Great Car W/ A Great Motor "iron Duke" — I got my every penny worth for this car 500 bucks it was awsome! I had a base model grand am with a 5 speed stick I was working on conveting it to a "LE" looking model switching out bumper covers and tail lights and getting newer grand am rims In a nutshell the car was very fun, very reliable with the "4 tech" motor 2.5 Iron Duke as people call it by the time I got rid of the car it had foglights upfront (factory) and dual cutout bumper on rear (factory) and I had an exhaust shop put on dual exhaust and tips out the back was pretty sweet!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I could fit a fully assembled "long block"  ford mustang 302 in the trunk and close the lid!!

Cons: The car  was soggy suspention wise but thats what you get for a base model i guess?

Depends On Personal Tastes And Usage. — It gets me from point A to point B. if i could find a 3.2 V6, it might become a sports coupe, but no chance of that anytime soon, not in my name... And engines are pricey. At least its domestic.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Simple and even slightly sexy if in good condition (Mine's a 2-door!)

Cons: 2.4 litre inline 4 a little shrimpy for performance junkies, but the 3.2 litre v6 hauls ass!

The Pontiac 'am — The Grand Am didn't age very gracefully. After 15 years water started leaking in, and would form a puddle on the ground. The electronics were obviously out of date, but it ran quite well. In the years I had it, I only had to replace brake lights and an alternator. It was a well made American car that had a sturdy exterior.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Sturdy exterior

Cons: Not water tight

Pontiac Grand Am 89 — It's old, you can't really give a good rating on something this worn down. Performance is horrid, not much for acceleration, but it gets me for destination to destination. This model has no options at all, just your basic things that you need...changed the thermostat due to the car not warming up enough for the heat to be warm...now its somewhat warm, but the heater seems to lack in moving air through all the vents but the two in the middle and the heat isn't warm enough.

Pros: fuel economy, easy to work on

Cons: slow acceleration

Grand Am — it gets me around from point a to point b just fine. The only thing that sucked is the engine blew 2 days after the dealer warranty expired, but the new engine my mechanic put in works great. It's too fun to drive, just something that gets me to where i need to go.

Pros: Very reliable, decent gas mileage.

Cons: it's getting beat up, rusty, and no windshield wipers

Built Like A Beast! — This car has a very well built engine. This car, for being older then me, gets going and stay going. The only thing is that when you're going fast the whole dash board vibrates and shakes, the steering wheel is loose and feels like its not attached to the car. But other then the visual of the car and the interior, the dash and steering wheel can be fixed. Under the hood is good!

Pros: Built to last, nice roar of an engine, good under the hood.

Cons: The steering wheel, dash, interior and new paint job please!!!

My First Car — It took me places and only left me stranded a couple of times. Overally pretty reliable.

Pros: Reliable, low cost of ownership, easy maintenance

Cons: Too much plastic parts on the interior which doesn't last long in the Texas sun.

The 1st Car — This baby was a blast to drive. A peppy DOHC 4 banger kicked enough horses to have fun with and still get good gas mileage. She ran strong.

Pros: Everything

Cons: nothing

First Car Driven — lack of power, tight small space in back seat, great sound, base model lacks all the convience goodies. great for school driving and just getting around.

Pros: ok looking at first, sporty, fun to drive

Cons: poor quality but we had it forever
