A Great First Car — the acceleration is fairly good, doesn't have good handling in snow it has needed a few repairs it gets good gas mileage, maintenance is fairly low this car is fun to drive around the city or out on the highway. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: the interior is put together good, has good speakers, it is a manual Cons: the amount of power it has at lower rpms ![]() Looking for a Used Maxima in your area?CarGurus has 9,937 nationwide Maxima listings starting at $999. |

1989 Maxima Gxe Auto — It has pretty good performance, and decent handling. Its a blast to drive, and keeps me looking pretty good while doing so. When nissan called this the 4 door sports car back in the day they weren't kidding. So far the cost of ownership hasnt been bad, however I see a transmission job in my near future. :( Pros: Fun to drive, roomy, quick Cons: nissan auto tranny problem and VG30 manifold studs |

Wengh — my car has every single option one can think of, the kms on this car make it very long lasting, very well made. i can set the mode to sport or comfort, stereo is loud on volume one, power everything, electric spedometer (very rare) Pros: good for 500, 000 kms Cons: imported parts are expensive, windshield is 800 bucks due to heads up display |

The Car Is Advanced For Its Year, While Also Maintaining Great Performance. — The car has a V-6 3.0 Liter engine with roughly 160 horsepower. For a luxury sedan, this car has power. It has leather seats with power seat adjustment. The instrument panels are all electronic, which has proven to be problematic, 19 years after the creation of this car. The entire electronic part of the dash only works when the temperature outside the car is roughly 80 degrees. Pros: Great performance in all aspects, looks beautiful inside and out. Cons: The electronics don't work very well. |

The Maxima is not a fun car to own. The CVT brings this car down below potential. Should have the same engine and tranny as the comparable Infiniti Q50. Read More
