1986 Mercedes-Benz 190-Class 190D 2.5 Diesel SedanReview

Great, Comfortable, Little Jewel. — Unless you live in a metropolotin area, repair may become a bit of a problem. Seems that specialized tools are needed to do some repairs. The front headroom is limited if you are a tall person. Generally, this 30 year old car drives like a dream and takes few trips to the gas pump. It is like they say...Once you drive a Mercedes, you don't want to drive anything else. Smooth ride, handles like a dream, feels very safe, and has that great classic Mercedes look. I still have some mechanical work that needs to be done on her (change over the AC and at 150K probably should change the timing chain) but I feel that it will be money well spent. She should give another 150K or more, with no problems. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Nice looking classic. Was well maintained from original owner. Drives and rides like a dream. Gets almost 40 MPG. Very quiet inside cabin. Has plenty of climbing power (takes this 4000 foot mountain with ease at 55 mph). Cons: Slow on takeoff. Maintance is a little pricey. Needs more headroom in the front. Rear seat leg room almost nonexistant. Finding qualified people to work on it is difficult. Dealership is much too costly for maintance and repair. |
