My car isn’t starting
I just replaced my fuel pump and my sending unit and my fuel filter and my 300zx is still not starting. it is getting spark and it gets compression and fuel. U just need some help

I bought this out of an old woman's garage at the right price. Even though it was an automatic, the turbo spooled up and put you back in the seat. It has been a trusty date car over the years. I have owned it for 12 years and only have upgrade items as maintenance cost.Nov 11, 2014

I bought it as a weding present for my wife, still have the same car and same wife. Both look great after 27 years! The cockpit electronics have given me fits over the years. I need to rebuild the dash and replace the compass, G-meter, and rebuild the original radio. It has been replaced 3 times and rebuilt 3 times. I currenlty have an aftermarket one in the car but want to put it back to stock. - I need to do the heater rehab, sounds like a big job to me. Wish me luck!Oct 23, 2012

Where do I start? I bought this car with 20k mls on the clock,everything was luxurious and mine was the 2 seater,manual tranny with t tops and everything digital and all kinds of gauges...but was this a head ache, this car is tje reason I walked away from all Nissan,after I had been a loyal Nissan customer for 7 years,turbo went bad,fuel injectors went bad,Nissan sent out a re call to fix them,power windows went bad at 30k mls,a friend liked the car and he begged me to sell it to him,I explaimed to him that the car spent more time at the dealer than on the highway,he insisted he wanted it that he would fix it,I sold it to him,LOL,he ended up losing the car,and we lost our friendship,in retrospect looking back,I wouldn t buy it,it looked awesome and when it worked fine it was a fine running car,but it was expensibe to own,this was a lemon,but there was no lemon law at the time.Feb 10, 2012

this car is a blast to drive. love its styling and looks. professionally maintained with lots of tlc. mostly garage kept except for last couple of years. this car loves to hug the road and was fun to drive through the smokey mountains with the t-tops down.Jan 26, 2012

Z31 300ZX are a classic sport car. turbo or non-turbo gets great performance with 5-speed standard transmission. You can get a Z31 cheap and restore it. These sport cars are fun to drive and come with T-Roofs. Highly recommendedSep 11, 2011

beefing the brakes up, and making a straight pipe all the way helps. I stuck the o2
on rich so it smells a little funny to everyone else except me. Need that richness for

what do i think about my car? well... lets see.
stock performance is OK for a 24 year old car.
build quality is great, but it has its little quirks, then again, what car doesnt?
appearance, its just plain sexy.
cost of ownership? i paid 3k for this one in mint condition with only 142k miles on it. gas mileage is decent for a 3.0L v6. at best i got pretty close to 30 mpg on the highway. maintenance, well that can be pricey if you order your stuff direct from courtesy (nissan), but if your cheap like me, theres a plethra of other cars in the local junkyards that have this motor and many other useable/swapable/upgrade bolt-on parts.
fun factor? stock, its slow and it handles like a mid 80's sports car should. with a little suspension work (tokico illumina 5 was adj. shocks and a poly-urethane bushing kit) it will hold almost any road you throw at it.
speed wise? well, lets say my little 160hp NA VG30 pushed this car to WELL over 160mph. now, if you do an NA to Turbo swap (swap the manifolds, injectors and ECU) you can keep the higher compression (9.5-1 NA vs 7.8-1 turbo) and make well over 300hp to the wheels just by upping your fuel pressure and your boost.

This 300zx I bought for $200 as a part car for my 86' 300zx. The car didn't run and had rust in many spots. I ended up stripping the car of all the parts i could use, then sold the frame to a wrecker. Performance - Would be better with correct rims on front.
Build Quality - It's 25 and could've been better maintained by
previous owner(s).
Appearance - Getting there. Needs a paint job.

Blew hot air at accel, Door handle broke,stock radio was pretty bad, Spark plug siezed to head, Paint bubbled pretty bad. Other than that it was pretty fast and could do a mean burnout but if y ou want a dream car, go with an 89-96Nov 21, 2009

This was my dream car. It handled like it was on rails. Pick up off the mark was instantanious. Had boosting power like nothing else. Was reasonably inexpensive to run. This baby was an adrenilin pumping ride and drifted nicely round corners. All was good till someone smashed into it failing to give way. SUX. I loved that carSep 11, 2008

I love everything about it. It's flashy, super fast, super luxurious, and with my performance mods, can blow the doors off anything in this town. All of my friends know my car and I'm able to turn heads everywhere I go. The issue is, the police also know my car and makes it so i have to be extra cautious. great weekend cruiser, not amazingly fast but still good acceleration, handles like its on rails, brakes are extreamly good, pulls up very well. in excellent condition , inside and out, with perfectly working targa roofs, and all original and good condition . quite good on fuel with highway cruising showing fuel consumption around 6L per 100kmJul 20, 2008

1985 300zx hessitates
Hey guys i have an 1985 300zx na. Just bought this car. It is very hard to start when cold. Takes a gew tries starting the car before it stays running. Once it reaches operating temp it has a slightly high idle. If you try to rev it up in neutral as long as you dont go past 50 percent throttle it revs and runs perfect. But if you go past 50 percent it will rev to 3500 and fall on its face. Like you cut the ignition off. It will fall to 1000k and shoot back up to 3500. You can do this over amd over again. When driving its alittle more sensitive. About 35 percent throttle and it will do the same until you let off the throttle. But runs perfect as long as you stay out of the throttle. Have changed plugs wires oil change cleaned mas sensor. Changed fuel pump. Checked for vaccum leaks and intake leaks. Chamged tps and made sure its adjusted properly. Used seafoam to clean carbon from valves. Cleaned intake and throttle body. Nothing has changed. Can anyone help
