I Love My Melinda — old car with 47,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ. but slow. very very slow. it's decent on gas. the car is cheap to maintain. it is extremely slow and it has decent handling and starts to shake at around 80 mph Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: if you like reliable cars Cons: if you want a fast car ![]() Looking for a Used Accord in your area?CarGurus has 63,049 nationwide Accord listings starting at $995. |

1985 Hona Accord — I bought this car from my uncle over 2 years ago... it now has 310k miles on it, and i don't see it quiting any time soon... i drive it around 100 miles a day on average, and that doesn't include trips when i just want out of town.. It accelerates wonderfly, wouldn't expect this from a car in it's generation, brakes and transmission work beautifully, doesn't have power steering, but i've never owned a car with it, and after driving my mums toyota, makes my car feel sounder.. I get around 33mpg avg, prolly 29 city, and as much as 40 freeway.. they only complaint is that the timing belt and alternator are extremly difficult jobs, almost requiring the engine to be taken out, and with all those vacuum hoses it's a nightmare. Pros: great mpg, reliable, not a car that people look to steel,, there are probably 300 in the us left Cons: appearance after 25 years is starting to dumb itslef down.. |

Can't Go Wrong With A Honda — GREAT car. Gray cloth seats, manual roll-down windows, non-functioning AC, but a great Blaupunkt radio/cassette player. Pros: My first car (purchased by my dad!) Cons: AC didn't work :( Louvers on the rear hatch window. It looked nice from afar, but turned out to be crappy. |

Great Car... — When my father stopped driving due to health, he gave me his. At this was in 2004 and timing was right as I'd just left a job and had to give up my company car. At the time, the car had just over 65000 miles...since then I've racked up another 20000. Maintenance costs are low, because there are some things I can do (not so on newer cars...need close to a PhD it seems). Additionally, I've had few repairs. It is a great car, rides a little rough because the car is at a point of needing shocks. With gas prices high and only going higher, the Accord gives me a nice alternative to driving my 2003 Explorer. Pros: Great gas mileage, able to do minor repairs and maintenance (not as much sophisticated electronics as today's vehicles). Hatchback allows easy loading and carrying larger loads. Ok to let my dog ride in it- not worried about her stinking it up. Cons: No power steering, making turning a bit difficult in tight turns. Minor dents from my elderly father backing into stuff. Being a 22 year old car, one needs to check the ego at the door when driving...don't get many dates with this vehicle! |

Great Car — I own a 1985 Honda Accord hatchback. no power steering. 5 speed manual. My mom bought it new in 1985. After she had her stroke in 1997 I started driving it. Has 185,000 miles on it. I would love to get a new honda with fuel injection and not alot of vacuum hoses. Nice thing about the car ive never had to make a car payment. But, Ive had to spend alot of money keeping it running good. But thats ok i dont' mind. I love hondas great cars. very reliable. Owner for 10 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:6,000 |
