This is my daily driver. I have owned many sports cars including m3's, corvettes, bmw m roadsters, etc. This truck has always been there for me. Great mileage 40+ because its a diesel. Have 215,000 miles and drives great. Mechanically sound.Oct 06, 2014

Great little truck with good gas mileage. Gets the job done without needing a stepladder to get into it. Have owned it for 23 years with minimal expenses. Neighbors up & down the street use it for running errands to hardware store!Jun 01, 2011

love that it is bullet proof.
dont like that it is not extended cab . and the body dammage.
but its cool cuz it was the best price... free.
I want to get the matching year 4 runner. with a 5 speed.

I had a blue, 2.4L, 2bb carburated, 5 speed, bucket seats, extra cab, w/ 15 x 7 aluminum wheels on 50 series low profile Falken tires, flowmaster 2' piping exhaust, lowered torsion bars in the front & 2" blocks on leaf springs, w/ a solid blue Snug Top camper shell no windows on the sides and a lift gate window in the rear. Sony detachable tape deck w/ 6 disc changer and remote control, Sony 10 band Equilizer w/ sub woofer control. 3 channel passive crossover connected to 2 240 watt amplifiers for the lows & mids and 1 60 watt amplifier for the highs. My stereo system took me about 4 years to attain & install behind my seats in the extra cab. My bed remained empty for hauling putrposes. Mar 12, 2010

It was a blue xtra cab 5 speed manual bucket seats with matching blue snug top and sony sound system 2" blocks in the rear torsion bars lowered in the front made for a lightweight truck that handled around turns. Mar 12, 2010

this is a 1984 toyota. it's not your average toyota truck though. under the hood rests a 355 small block chevy. behind that, a turbo 350 tranny. this powers a corp. 14 bolt rear end with dana 60 axles front and rear. on the end of these axles.....MONSTER 44 inch boggers on 16 inch eagle alloy wheels.Dec 28, 2009

the older toyota pickups are great solid axle is real
tough. but this truck is thrashed, it has a rebuilt status
and is worth more as parts, as is it is scary to drive.
dont get me wrong i love these trucks just this was

This was one of the second early 80's Toyota trucks I owned. The only difference is that this one came with a 5 speed manual vs. a 4 speed. If you can pick up a non rusted out Toyota truck from the eighties for cheap, do it.

this was my buddies truck and he lived on a farm. it was good to get around with and sumhow made it into town from the highway since it only had a 4 spd manual. it had a short wheel base and not so bad turning radius which is perfect if ur off roading. the truck i believe has more then gone over the 1000000km mark and is still ticking away.Feb 07, 2008

The 1984 Toyota pickup is the best all-round pickup ever. It was a small truck for those who don't like 'em big but there was actually a one-ton package available with a longbed which gives you everything you would want a full-sized truck for. It had a 4-cylander motor which is good for fuel economy and it had a 4-wheel drive system that would outcrawl any other system on the market.Jan 27, 2008

How do adjust the idle on a Toyota Dolphin Mini-Motorhome
My 84 Toyota Dolphin Mini Motorhome did not pass smog. High HC at Idle. Prior to the smog, we fixed an exhaust manifold leak and after that repair, it's idling rough - and for the first time in the 5 years I've owned it - it didn't pass smog. We think the idle needs to be adjusted - and we don't have the tool needed. 1) do you think adjusting the idle will help reduce the Hydrocarbons 2) If the idle needs to be adjusted - any ideas where we can get the correct tool? 3) Any other suggestions will be appreciated
