It is very good on highways it goes smootly long distances and is economical ride comfort is relaxable,,,these old mB 300SD has only come to US market with the bodytype 116 they are more and more wanted in european market.Jan 28, 2013

I have a 1979 300 SD, The dealer quoted $800.00 for a small set of 4 pads in a small box to do the front!
It was not that expensive 5 to 10 yrs ago, why now? I just walked away, came back and asked him to put it in writing. "What do they make the brake pads out of now, Gold?" I will also replace the front rotors & bearings as well. (just below, in this form, you do not offer my 1979 model, so I put 1981, your closest model.) Thank You! I am brand new to this site. I'll be glad to offer any other assistance to members as needed, if I know the answer. Pete
