Old ladies car. Probably not, but the only people I have known that owned one, were older women.
Power Ranked 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme better.
"Mine had the Oldsmobile 4-4-2 (also known as the 442) The 4-4-2 name (pronounced Four-four-two) derives from the original cars four-barrel carburetor, four-speed manual transmission, and dual exhausts. It was originally written 4-4-2 (with badging showing hyphens between the numerals), and remained hyphenated throughout Oldsmobiles use of the designation. Beginning in 1965, the 4-4-2s standard transmission was a 3 speed manual along with optional 2 speed automatic or 4 speed manual, but were still badged as 4-4-2s. By 1968 badging was shortened to simply 442, but Oldsmobile brochures and internal documents continued to use the 4-4-2 model designation. [Driven: Front-wheel drive 1968 Oldsmobile A-body. Handling Ranked 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme better.
"Handling was relatively similar. The COOL factor was not."
Looks/Style Ranked 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme better.
"You must ask? Just look at the lines for gods sake!"
Front Seats Ranked 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme better.
"1971-1972 had the Front Split Bench With Center"
Family Car Ranked 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme better.
"Well, really it is only better if you have a teenage son who wants a cool car to drive to school to impress. Otherwise, if you have small kids, stick with the Old Grandma looks of the Monte Carlo."
Would Buy Ranked 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme better.
"In 1971 fewer than 7,600 were sold , it was basically the last gasps of the muscle car era, which makes it way cool in my book. (and ultimately more collectible.)"

Very Good Looking Smooth Running Ride. — Got a great deal on this, Cant wait for warmer weather to get this out and about. Need a headliner, and was possibly going to try to install myself. could use some advice there. Any words of encouragement, or discouragement will be appreciated.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Just got this a couple months ago, its tucked in the garage of course

Cons: takes up alot of room in my little garage, need to get rid of some clutter

Its Big — nothing, its not the fastest car with its stock engine in it but even just changing the 4th gear ratio to a 3.73 will give more torque to push that boat. ive driven one once before and it was amazing!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: its the biggest muscle car out there

Cons: avoid vinyl roofing, it always rust at the seem

Great Car — its a lil rusty, but it still looks like a muscle car. its fairly fast accelorating and steers like a boat. it needs a paint job, but the paint still looks good and the car itself is in great condition. it has 324000 miles on one engine one tranny and it is all original except for exhaust and the ignition system.

Pros: muscle car

Cons: muscle car

All American Muscle In Canada!! — The car has tons of power and torque!! this thing burns rubber for blocks... id like to see a tuner try that.

Pros: Better then all my buddies cars. Chick magnet... lol

Cons: No Body Sells Parts For These and if they do they only sell some parts...

Labor Of Love — It took me and a friend 20 days a month for 7 months to do a mild frame on resto. Very rare and may be the last SS ever built, according to a letter from Gm and the vin number.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: This 1971 Monte Carlo SS 454 is in the first generation of Monte Carlo's built, 1971 was the last first generation SS built, total production in 1971 1919 SS's

Cons: They started a second generation in 1983 though 1988 of which 30174 were built, these cars were nothing compared to the 1970 and 1971 SS's, there were no 1972 SS's.
