CarGurus' 1990 Mazda 626 Review

For 1990, the Mazda 626 saw the addition of available anti lock breaks on some of the more expensive models. All versions saw a new grille and taillights.

The 1990 Mazda 626 came in a number of trims, including the base DX sedan, the midrange LX sedan and hatchback, and the high-end GT touring hatchback. The DX and LX models shared a 2.2-liter, 110 power four-cylinder engine. The GT had a 2.2-liter 145 horsepower four-cylinder. Fuel economy was 24/31 for the smaller engines and 21/28 for the GT.

The 1990 Mazda 626 was an economical car, even the GT, which is why most drivers say they like them. Owners say they are comfortable and easy to drive, and GT owners praise the car’s acceleration. Some complain about the cheap interior, and others say they produce a lot of road noise.
