CarGurus' 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan Review

Go, Dodge, Go!  The 10th anniversary of the minivan, but only the 6th for the Grand Caravan, Dodge celebrated in 1994 by adding a new engine option for the Grand Caravan.  In addition to the 3.0-liter, 141-hp V6 and the 3.3-liter, 150-hp V6, supermarket shoppers could buy that extra bag of charcoal, knowing they'd be able to get up the hill to their house powered by the new 3.8-liter, 162-hp V6 engine.

Also new for 1994 were standard dual front airbags and side door guard beams, which beefed up the safety features of the Grand Caravan, but required a minor dashboard redesign.  AWD was only available in Grand Caravans in 1994.  Minor cosmetic work included new bumpers and moldings.  Remote keyless entry was a new option this year.

With any of the V6 engines under its hood, the 1993 Grand Caravan had a lot of power, much prized by drivers.  But it was also smooth and quiet and easy to drive no matter where you took it.  Cargo space in the Grand was enormous.  Despite its decent fuel economy and affordable price, the biggest complaint about the Grand Caravan is its repair record, particularly the transmission, which turned some drivers away from Dodge forever.
