Accel distributor

Asked by Katlin Oct 14, 2016 at 12:18 AM about the 1989 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne RWD

Question type: General

89 Chevy 1500 . Its a 4.3 tbi and has a accel
distributor. No 6 mark but has the notch where it
should be. The wheel has an 8 an a b on it which
should point at the stator? I dont have the paint
mark on shaft. Just wondering if tdc how it should
all line up. O and the cap has a #2 on the inside.
Please help. Thanks.

Motor tdc, distributor rotor pointed at 1 on the cap. Then fine tube with a timing light while running with the timing connector disconnected on the firewall usually. Sometimes the connector is under the passenger side of the dash

I dont have the timing tab. My damper marks are 2:00-5:00. About right?
