2008 VW Passat fuel door

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My fuel door on my 2008 VW 2.0T Passat won’t
open. I hear the sound like the door is trying to
open, but it obviously doesn’t open.  I tried looking
for the emergency cable release but I don’t know
what it looks like. Is it even there? Also I was
wondering if it was a blown fuse, or should I just pry
it open. Or is it just stuck...

Thanks everyone for the response

yea should be in the trunk behind the side wall panel and it sounds like the actuator is more then likely stuck as its a mechanile pin that is motor driven. You could proply pop it open jsut use something like a hard plastic thing to try and pus it away from the pin. you could also alternativly try pushing the pin backwards if you can get the item in question on the other end.

Thank you, I opened the panels on the side of the fuel door, after a lot of panic I found it behind some other panel. After inspecting it, I noticed that the arm that connects to the actuator was unclipped. A simple snap back onto the actuator and everything works just fine. Thanks again
