2013 Subaru Outback AT oil temp light

Asked by GuruTG64D Jul 29, 2018 at 11:46 AM about the 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had my oil changed at the dealership.  On our 2 hour drive home the AT Oil
temp light came on.  I called the dealership and kept getting put on hold and
finally got to a tech.  He said to quit driving as soon as possible.  We were a
few miles from the nearest town and drove there and left the car at a friend's
house.  The car was driving fine.  They had looked at the AC as it had not
been working well at an extended stop.  They did not have the part for it so
we were going to have to reschedule that fix.  Should I have the car towed to
the same Dealer or to a different dealer?

Did you get it fixed? I had the same AT Oil Temp blinking (rapid 8 times to be exact). I took it to many transmission shops and they can't find any problem with transmission with final shop confidently saying that it has no problem, just Subaru to reset the computer. I am stuck and also stuck with this oil consumption that eats 1 quart of oil in less than 2500 miles. Along with some recalls, faulty fuel gauge, and numerous little annoying problems that are off-topic here). What a piece of lemon!
