The best way to prevent hydroplaning is to slow down on wet roads, especially where you see standing water. I see some people driving their SUV like it's a motor boat. But yes, some tires are better than others and they have a rating for "Wet Road" traction. Your tire dealer car show you the rating on the tire's label. A, B, or C with "A" being the best. And new tires are always better than worn tires.
