I just purchased a 2010 Jeep Patriot and found out that when I remote lock the vehicle all doors lock, but not the back liftgate. Is there a trick to locking it?

Nope, the tailgate should lock too. Does it lock by pressing a inside door lock button? It could have a bad connection or a bad solenoid.
