Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am working on troubleshooting an issue with my AC. When I turn on the AC to max cool the air does not get cool at all. I let it run on MAX for about 5 minutes then hooked a monitor to the low pressure valve; it was high in the red! Everything I have read says to check the AC clutch relay, and to check to see if the AC compressor and clutch are engaged and working. I do not know where the clutch relay is located, nor do I know where the compressor or clutch are? Can someone please help me? This is my first Jeep and I am a novice at car repair. Pictures with the explanation would help me greatly! Thank you in advance for anyone who can help!

Bob, thank you greatly for your quick reply. On the top diagram of the engine, which numbers associate with what I am looking for? I appologize, but I really do not know. I'm trying not to have to go to a shop everytime something goes wrong with my vehicle, as I cannot afford their prices, but it is a slow process.

Sounds like the in line filter ( orfice tube filter ) is clogged it is located inside of the high side of the A.C system that is the small line you will need a special tool to disconnect the line to get to the filter.

When you turn on the A.C you should hear a click sound and looking at the compressor the outside of it should be spinning that is the clutch. Look at compressor before turning it on then turn on A.C you will see the difference if clutch is working.

This car uses a PWM compressor and not a conventional clutch type.
