Why do I have to go only with 95 Chevy 4l60?

Why won’t a transmission out of a 95 and under
4xr4 work on my truck every one days I have to find
a 95 but why?

1995 at GM could be OBD I or OBD II. So with a 1995 model you have to get another 1995 transmission with the tag on the transmission matching exactly to the old transmission. A 94 and older is OBD I and a 96 and newer is OBD II. But 95 is a crap shoot, it could be either! Hope that helps! Jim
