Most likely is your cars fuel pump or injection pump not supplying enough fuel pressure. Basically, to start an engine you need electric power from the battery, fuel from your fuel tank supplied by a pump and air. If one of this are restricted your engine won't start or run. In your case the symptom leads to the fuel system. I won't go into details but you should check your fuel flow, also check for a clogged fuel filter or line provided the fuel pump works. After this things get a little more complicated. Good luck.
