doe the car turn over and does it try to start or just crank? once these questions are answered we can start figuring what could be causing the issue from the top down.

It turns over it just won't start it sounds like it wants to start just something isn't clicking I have no idea

so then it coughs and sputters but jsut keeps turning. Sounds like a firing issues. Try checking all your spark plugs, wires and coil pack. Check for spark on the plugs by pulling them all out plug them back into the wires and sit them near a piece of metal so they will spark off it. How long have the plugs been in the car as well? if its been over 50k since a spark plug change i would advise getting new ones and i would buy the best Bosch 4 point plugs. they are the most reliable plugs for audis. if you see plugs that are not sparking when you replace them it may fix it but if they still don't spark you need a coil pack. if everything is fine move on to testing the fuel lines pressure test the fuel system after the fuel regulator.

thatl do it at least it was a simple fix. And don't forget about your timing belt if your closing in on your next 90,000k you will want to get it done soon so you don't turn your motor into a paper weight.
