What needs to be done to tow a 2002 Tracker on a dolly?

Asked by HansC Jun 09, 2016 at 12:41 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Tracker ZR2 2-Door Soft Top 4WD

Question type: General

I just bought a 2002 Chevy Tracker ZR2, 4 cyl., 4x4, 2 door. Standard shift. 5
speed. I have no intentions of ever using the 4x4. What needs to be done to
make this a 2-wheel drive vehicle? Just saw a video on you tube disconnecting
a drive shaft. The video does not tell if it was a front or rear shaft. Any Idea?
Yes, I need to tow this car on a dolly.

You disconnect the front driveshaft to make it a 2 wheel drive. If you are towing this for long distance, it is advised to disconnect the rear driveshaft if the front wheels are up on the dolly.

don't go messing around with the vehicle- just sell it and get a front wheel drive car- the rear wheels are freewheeling on front drive vehicles- they are perfect for towing on a dolly- just get the right equipment and save yourself a lot of hassle-
