4t65e-hd tranny problems

my gtp has been giving me problems after i go about 5 miles my tranny starts to slip but if i shut my car off and wait 2 min it works for a couple more miles and every once and a while when i start out it acts like its grinding gears for bout 2 seconds then its fine????? please help me 98 gtp

the tranny is shot. what you are experiencing is the filter is pluged up with clutch materal. there is no magic cure don't wast your time or money just rebuild it. new filter new fluid wont do a thing. 15yr. exp.
