Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2011 Jeep wrangler sports back window got broke
out and now after I moved it under the carport and
put plastic over the window, the battery is
completely dead. Will the broken back window
cause the battery to go dead?

It could if you have a rear window defogger. The wires could be touching something metal or not be grounded and causing the drain on the battery. Unplug the fuse for the defogger and see if that stops the battery from going dead. Hope that helps! Jim

From the picture I see some potential electrical draws, the big one is the rear wiper motor, unplug it, the door or window open switch would stay on cause there is nothing to turn it off. Maybe the defogger but those are usually switch controlled so it would be low on the cause list. But be aware that batteries can just up and fail during a season change without any warning, so if the battery is three years old it could just be that.
