Sounds more like your alternator is dieing or dead. You can go to your local auto parts store and have them test your battery and alternator. The only way that the AC compressor might effect the other electrical system is if the clutch has seized and has worn the belt down causing it to slip frequently thus keeping the alternator from spinning and providing a charge to the battery. You would hear the serpentine belt screeching though.
