I have a 2002 1.2 polo for the last 2 months my brake let out a high pitch squeak when pressed down hard ( like the very end off a stop) but it only does this for the first few times after I start up

you have bad brake pads. The brake pads you bought have a high concetration of metal in them which causes them to squeel. Either that or they are preaty close to completly worn out and the metal plate of your brake pad or caliper is rubing on your rotor.

Hey , thanks for reply , I'll go into a little more detail , I bought the car at 69000 miles and it's now at 72000 so I have never replaced the brake pads they only squeak if I push the brakes down almost fully and after 3 or 4 stops they will not squeak anymore? Do I defo need new break pads
well one thing you will want to do is defantly take those brakes apart each and every one and clean them and check them and replace broken or worn out parts. Also lube up the sliders and grease up most of the movable parts. I can almost garante those break pads are probly worn out or super cheap or plain and simply dirty. But im bettering on cheap and worn out.

You seem to know what your talking about so I'll get them changed , back one or front? Or both sets? Is it expensive to get them done , it's my first car haha
Well for starters i would jsut jack the car up take the wheel off and check the brakes out. If the pad is less than a inch thick it is not new. Most pads are ussaly have either a slot in the middle or a edged side if these are gone that ussaly means your brake pads are getting clsoe to being worn out and need replacement within the next few thousand km's depending on how you drive (aka heavy on the brakes, city driving wares um out fast, Highway kms ussaly makes your brakes last longer due to less braking.) Check all four brakes replace if they look worn out and look for super shiny chunks in the pads as these indicate metal chunks in the pads causing this noise. Also check your rotors they should be smooth where the pad rubs any deep ruts worn into the rotor is from uneven ware, replace both rotors and pads if they look bad. And as for pads and rotors You can get rotors from any where from 49-89$ Canadain and brake pads for the front is roughly 89$ for a good set 69$ for a cheap set. Rear brake pads are roughly 35$ for cheap sets to 89$ for good sets. so full set of rotors and pads for your car would range betwen 200$- 400$ depending on what you get and what you need. Keep in mind if you replace one side replace the oppisite side to keep it even. this is why brake pads come in a set of either front or back pads.

Haha thanks for the great replys , while I have you I have another question , my clutch engagement point is varying 10% off the time it's close to the floor where I want it and the rest off the time it's a little higher and compared to driving my dads car it feels a bit high and umcomfortable , any reason behind the engagement point changing and any way for me to keep it low!?
I just pulled this from anouther site ill provide a link at the bottom incase you want to see if anything else will be more helpful. (There isn’t an adjustment on it, instead of a cable to connect the clutch pedal to the thrust bearing on the clutch you have a master cylinder and a slave cylinder connected by a pipe full of (brake) fluid, When you put your foot on the clutch you push the fluid from the master cylinder through the pipe, which then pushes a piston out in the slave cylinder to move the thrust bearing, which pushes down on the fingers of the clutch pressure plate to release the clutch centre plate. ) https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080227074547AAdFGRn
so if you find it is not working as it should just top up the master and it should work itself out in a few pushes since it is most likely low on fluid.

i really am clueless with cars but correct me if im wrong i can just pop the hood and pour the fluid straight into a pipe correct? Also where could i get the fluid i live in ireland , maybe amazon

your going to want to consult the vw dealership since they use specific fluids for this. so getyourself to a vw dealer when ever you got the time for it.
