No it will not go into limp mode because of an oil change or lack there of. Reset the light if you don't want to see it. If you are having problems have the trouble codes read. This sound like a misfire.

I can assure you it will go into limp mode if no oil change and perhaps a flush. My CRV was constantly going into limp mode and engine light coming on. I took it to a dealer and they came up with all sorts of things and suggested I change sensors and they even stated it could be the timing belt. The cost was £1000 total by the time they finished and it STILL didn't solve it. Guess what? Just a month ago, I travelled up from south England to Scotland and almost the whole journey, I was in limp mode. I was at the end of my tether. My bro in law suggested I get an oil change and a flush, so I did. Limp mode issue fixed for good. Car driving brilliantly and it is a 2004 CRV.
