2011 Honda CRV key fob will unlock car but when inserting key into the ignition to start, the engine turns on but immediately stops. Indicator light says it's not recognized or programmed with my car. What can I do? The key still works otherwise.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Used this key to drive to the gym, all was fine. I come out after my workout
and I can get into the car just fine but the key locks me out of the ignition. Got
a ride home to get my spare key and it fully starts the ignition. What is going
on? What do I need to do?

Yes, I know that. I have 2 actual fobs and one gray valet key. It is one of the actual fob keys that would not work. It must have got deprogrammed somehow? Can I go to a locksmith to have it reprogrammed?

I just had this same problem yesterday. The key I’ve used for 7 years stopped working. The engine would die after a second. But my other two keys including the valet key work find.

The key FOB has a battery. Just replace the battery.

I’m still not getting an answer as to why my anti theft light all of a sudden flashes when the car is off. Two lights flash when my car is locked?

Get some copper wire and wrapped it around any key then hammer the key in the door ignition, take the remaining wire and connect it to the attenna. Then the dangerous part put a car charger on the hood and connect the positive to the antenna then drive next to a gas pump and connect the negative to the key in the door know stand back and get ready cuz ur car door is about to open when the next person drives in tell him u need help and need to connect a wired to his battery to give all 3 cars an show that will be forever talked about.as he hooked up his wired to his car and turned it on the speaker blew outta the back window down the street hitting a homeless shelter then all of a sudden all the cars blew up,the car door flew off as she said it work but it decapitated her and the propane lasted until cops came as the guy said these guys are idiots then the propane blew the cops across the country and nothing was accomplish
