Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Please Help... when driving, my temp gauge will be working and then drop to cold. Check light comes on resulting in a faulty sensor code. Dealers could not find the fault. I replaced the temp sensor, sensor eletrical plug and speedo cluster and it`s still faulty. If i restart the engine it works for about 20 miles and just drops again. Could this be the computer. Thanks for your help - Dylan

might be your gauge cluster or the computer, Have they checked the wiring for this? Keep on top of this if you have warranty. So that way if they find a "fix" after the warranty runs out, you might have a case for a "good will" warranty. or if it causes a major issue you might be able for a "buy back" (under the Lemon Law") or if there is a major expense after your warrant runs out. Hope this helps, best of luck.

Yes, it sounds like the computer perhaps not recognizing the sensor's input or existence. You will want to take this to a dealer however to have it fixed, this way the problem is on record. Try a different dealership if the first one could not solve the problem. Sounds like a computer glitch which there may be a flash for.
