The 2027 Subaru Uncharted is an electric SUV that’s roughly the same size as the automaker’s popular Crosstrek model. Like other Subaru EVs, the Uncharted was co-developed with Toyota, which produces an almost identical model called the C-HR.

What’s New for the 2027 Subaru Uncharted
The Uncharted was an all-new model for 2026, and Subaru has not made any notable changes for the 2027 model year. Even the price remains the same, though the mandatory destination charge is up by $25. As before, the Uncharted is offered in Premium FWD, Sport, and GT trim levels.
Design
Though the Toyota C-HR and the Subaru Uncharted share the majority of their bits and pieces, the two have enough exterior differences to set them apart. The Uncharted wears a unique front fascia that shares its triple-stacked front lighting elements and illuminated six-star Subaru badge with the automaker’s other electric crossovers. Also mimicking other Subaru models, the Uncharted wears thick cladding around the wheel wells that helps to keep the bodywork safe from dents and dings. Due to the Uncharted’s steeply raked rear glass, the little SUV has a distinctly coupe-like profile.
Powertrain
Subaru may be known for producing all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicles, but the Uncharted comes standard with front-wheel drive (FWD) and a single 221-horsepower electric motor. Most Uncharted models feature AWD courtesy of a pair of motors that produce a combined 338 hp. The motors are fed by a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery regardless of trim level. In FWD form, the 2027 Uncharted can travel up to 308 miles per charge. Uncharted Sport models are rated at up to 287 miles and GTs at up to 273 miles. All Uncharted models feature a Drive Mode Select powertrain controller with normal, power, and eco modes. Models with AWD also get Subaru’s off-road-focused X-Mode with snow/dirt and deep snow/mud modes.
Interior
The Uncharted’s interior features a broad, flat dashboard with a pair of digital screens and a chunky center console. A squared-off steering wheel offers the driver a better view of the digital gauge cluster. Heated seats come standard, with the Premium FWD model wearing cloth upholstery. Sport and GT models get Subaru’s synthetic StarTex upholstery in either black or gray. The Uncharted is more than half a foot shorter than the Solterra, making it Subaru’s smallest electric vehicle. Its back seat is tight for adults, and its maximum 25.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row isn’t particularly large.
Technology
A 14-inch touchscreen comes standard in all Uncharted models. The infotainment software is similar to the system Toyota uses in its cars, and it’s straightforward and easy to use. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are standard, as are a pair of wireless device chargers for front-seat passengers. The 7-inch digital instrument cluster looks pretty small compared with the much larger infotainment screen. The 2027 Uncharted comes standard with a six-speaker audio system and GT models get a Harman Kardon 11-speaker sound system.
