Introduced for the 2020 model year, the Porsche Taycan got a mid-cycle refresh in 2025. It was Porsche’s first production battery-electric vehicle, and it helped make the case for the world at large that EVs can be track-ready sports cars. Taycan sits in the full-size electric luxury sport sedan segment, and primary competitors include the Lucid Air, the Audi e-tron GT, and the Mercedes-Benz EQE Sedan. The 2027 Porsche Taycan has seven trims: Taycan, Taycan 4, Taycan 4S, Taycan GTS, Taycan Turbo, Taycan Turbo S, and Taycan Turbo GT.

What’s New for the 2027 Porsche Taycan
The Porsche Taycan got a mid-cycle refresh in 2025 that included more horsepower in every trim, longer driving range, faster charging speeds, a new front fascia, revised headlights and taillights, significant tech upgrades, more standard equipment, and an enhanced infotainment. Even so, the 2027 Taycan gets some significant updates. Perhaps the biggest change is that all Taycan models (except the Turbo GT with the Weissach Package) adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS), which means it can now use the Tesla charging network for fast charging. A CCS adapter is included. Other changes include a standard 105-kWh battery, an available E-Shift with virtual gear changes, and new infotainment software with AI voice control. It’s also worth noting that for the 2027 model year, the only body style available on the Taycan is the sedan. The Cross Turismo was dropped after the 2026 model year.
Design
Even though the Taycan is electric, it has distinctive Porsche styling cues from the falling roof line (or flyline) to the pronounced fenders. The Taycan is highly customizable, with 18 different paint colors, most of which are premium, as well as exclusive paint-to-sample (PTS) options that range from $13,870 to $31,670. There are also multiple exterior packages available to customize the trim pieces with things like carbon fiber or gloss black as well as decal and model designation customization. Standard wheels are 19 inches, with 20- and 21-inch wheels available.
Powertrain
Except for the base Taycan and Taycan 4, which both deliver 429 horsepower, all other trims are differentiated by increasing horsepower and decreasing zero-to-60-mph times–even though all trims share the same 105-kWh battery pack. From the 4S to the Turbo GT, horsepower ranges from 590 all the way up to 1,019. The quickest zero-to-60-mph time of 2.1 seconds can be found in the Turbo GT with the Weissach Package. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is only available on the base Taycan, and all other trims come standard with dual motors and all-wheel drive (AWD). The new E-Shift option with paddle shifters is available on all trims, and it creates virtual gear changes combined with a Porsche electric sport sound that gives a gear-shifting sensation. Though 2027 fuel economy numbers aren’t available at the time of this writing, the 2026 numbers show that max range is 315 miles with the base Taycan equipped with 19-inch wheels. As horsepower and wheel sizes increase, your max range drops. Even so, the EPA estimates that the Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package will still get 269 miles of range.

Interior
The 2027 Taycan has a tech-forward vibe with a digital cluster and screens to control infotainment and HVAC. It is a four-passenger vehicle and comes with standard leather seats. There are leather-free as well as more premium leather options available in varying colors across the trim lineup. A panoramic fixed glass roof is standard, and it offers an upgraded electrochromatic glass option. As an EV, the Taycan does offer both a trunk and a front trunk (frunk). The standard trunk size is 14.3 cubic feet, though the Turbo and Turbo S sedans only offer 12.9 cubic feet. The frunk offers an additional 2.9 cubic feet of space, which is big enough for a carry-on suitcase.
Technology
The first thing you’ll notice when you get behind the wheel of the 2027 Taycan is the swath of screens surrounding the cockpit, and that’s a big clue that this vehicle is packed with tech. Standard features include a 16.8 inch curved digital cluster, a 10.9-inch infotainment screen, and an 8.4-inch console touchscreen for climate controls. Other standard features include an AI-supported digital assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10-speaker audio system, customizable home screen widgets, personalized themes that coordinate with ambient lighting, navigation with 3D building visualization, a 25-watt wireless phone charger with a magnetic ring mount, USB-C charge ports, and the ability to stream video when parked. Available features include the new E-Shift technology, a 10.9-inch passenger display, a premium Burmester 3D surround-sound system, head-up display, four-zone climate controls with a 5.9-inch rear HVAC touchscreen, remote park assist, and night vision assist.
