The Hyundai Palisade is one of the hottest vehicles in one of the hottest segments of the market, and in hybrid form, it’s also one of the most efficient three-row crossovers. The Hyundai Palisade Hybrid was all-new for the 2026 model year, joining its gasoline-fueled sibling and offering more power, better mileage, and just as much space and refinement inside.

What’s New for the 2027 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid
A year after its launch in the U.S., Hyundai adds a new top-shelf Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy Black Ink Edition to the lineup. Available in Abyss Black Pearl, Ecotronic Gray Pearl, or Creamy White Pearl colors, the Black Ink Edition features dark styling elements inside and out. Included in the package are black logos, windshield trim, grille accents, roof rails, alloy wheels, and more. Inside, the steering wheel, door handles, switchgear, speaker grills, air vents, and pretty much anything else that’s otherwise finished in chrome or silver in other Palisade models are all blacked out.
Design
The Palisade’s exterior design leans on bold styling elements, such as a huge grille between LED projector headlights and a stacked set of horizontal LED daytime running lights, to stand apart from other large crossover SUVs. At the rear, stacked LED taillights are a standout feature that add visual interest to the hindquarters. Hyundai offers several wheel designs that vary by trim level, with SEL models getting 18-inch units, Limited models stepping up to 20-inchers, and the Calligraphy and Calligraphy Black Ink each getting unique 21-inch wheels.
Powertrain
The 2027 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine coupled with a pair of electric motors integrated into a six-speed automatic transmission. Total system output stands at 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque—both figures are significantly higher than the 287 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque from the regular Palisade’s V6. The electric motors get their juice from a 1.65-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that charges while the vehicle is driven. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard and all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional. In its most efficient Blue trim level with FWD, the 2027 Palisade Hybrid is rated at 33 mpg in the city, 35 mpg on the highway, and 34 mpg combined. Other FWD models return 31 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 31 mpg combined. Palisade Hybrid models with AWD are rated to deliver 29 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined. Properly equipped, the 2027 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid can tow up to 4,000 pounds, which is 1,000 pounds less than its non-hybrid sibling.

Interior
The 2027 Hyundai Palisade’s interior is classy, comfortable, and well designed. The dashboard, in particular, has a rounded look reminiscent of mid-century modern design principles. All Palisade Hybrid models feature a three-zone climate control system, and second-row passengers get their own controls. There’s plenty of room in the front seats, and adults comfortably fit in the second row, which is offered in both two-person captain’s chairs and three-person bench seat configurations. The third row is tighter for adults, with between 32.1 and 33.6 inches of rear legroom, which trails segment leaders such as the Toyota Grand Highlander and the Honda Pilot. Maximum cargo capacity in the Palisade Hybrid measures 86.7 cubic feet, and while that’s quite a bit below the Grand Highlander’s 97.5 cubic feet, it’s still solid for the segment.
Technology
A pair of 12.3-inch digital screens is incorporated into the Palisade Hybrid’s dashboard. One serves as a digital gauge cluster, and the other runs the car’s touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, as does onboard navigation. Calligraphy and Calligraphy Black Ink models feature a 12-inch color head-up display that projects information on the windshield in front of the driver. Limited and Calligraphy models benefit from an upgraded Bose audio system with 14 speakers. All Palisade Hybrid trim levels get HD Radio, SiriusXM, and an in-car intercom.
