What’s New for the 2027 Audi S8
Changes for the 2027 Audi S8 are minimal. Heated rear seats are now standard, and the Black Optic package is now available with 21-inch seven-arm dark platinum gray wheels. Part of the fourth-generation A8 family that debuted for 2020, the S8 received a refresh for 2022 and consolidated its package content last year, a move that Audi says increased its value.
Design
The high-performance S8 sports a wide, low-slung look. The nose features Audi’s singleframe grille with a metallic mesh. Slender LED headlights flank the grille, as do lower air intakes accented by metallic trim. The sides of the S8 feature a sharply defined lower character line that rises between the wheels. At the back, OLED taillights are joined by an upper light strip and metallic trim, and it’s all underscored by quad exhaust outlets. The S8 rides on 21-inch wheels that are available in black. Speaking of black, a Black Optic package switches to black exterior trim, badges, and mirror housings, and comes with summer tires.
Powertrain
The S8 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that cranks out 563 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. It’s backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all that power flows to all four wheels via Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The S8 carries EPA fuel economy ratings of 15 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined.

Interior
The S8 features Valcona leather upholstery that extends to the dash and door trim. It also comes standard with heated front and rear seats, front seat ventilation and massage, power-adjustable front seats, driver’s seat memory, a heated steering wheel, four-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Also available are power-adjustable rear seats with lumbar adjustment and memory, rear seat ventilation and massage, and heated rear armrests. A Luxury Rear Seat package turns the S8 into a four-seater with a full-length rear center console, rear folding tables, and rear footrests. Cargo space in the trunk is small for a full-size car at 12.5 cubic feet.
Technology
The S8 comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster known as Audi’s Virtual Cockpit. It also has a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 8.6-inch touchscreen for the climate control functions, navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, three months of satellite radio, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. Optionally available are a head-up display and an upgraded Bang & Olufsen system.
