The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N came on the scene in 2025 as a high-performance version of the Ioniq 5 crossover. Direct competitors include the Kia EV6 GT, the Tesla Model Y Performance, the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, and the Chevrolet Blazer EV SS. While the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is technically part of the Ioniq 5 lineup, Hyundai sells it as a single trim variant.

What’s New for the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N
The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is essentially a carryover, as it was all-new for the 2025 model year, but there are a few changes. First, all Ioniq 5 N models now come standard with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. Second, Hyundai has upgraded the N Drive Optimizer Pro from a single mode to 10 selectable stages. Finally, the rear windows now have auto up/down functionality and there's a new Performance Blue Pearl paint option.
Design
The Ioniq 5 N has a sporty design with a wider track, lower ride height, larger brakes, performance tires, and visible aerodynamic changes that separate it from the regular Ioniq 5. It also has a distinctive red accent line on the front bumper, side skirts, and rear diffuser. The 2026 Ioniq 5 N comes standard with 21-inch forged wheels and 275/35R21 high-performance tires.
Powertrain
As a performance vehicle, the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N comes standard with dual-motor all-wheel drive and rally-inspired handling. The N variant delivers significantly more power than the regular model, with 601 horsepower in normal mode and up to 641 hp using the N Grin Boost. Torque is also higher at 560 pound-feet, but all of the above translates to less driving range. Equipped with an 84-kWh battery, the Ioniq 5 N gets an EPA-estimated 221 miles of range on a full charge. Its 800-volt architecture enables ultra-fast DC charging, and when conditions are right, it can go from 10% to 80% in about 18 minutes.

Interior
Just as the exterior design of the Ioniq 5 N is spicier than the regular model's, so is the interior. It has an N-branded steering wheel, seats, door scuff panels, and metal pedals. Additionally, the N’s center console is optimized for track driving with knee pads and shin support, as well as a sliding armrest. The N variant has heavily bolstered front sport seats, finished in recycled Alcantara and leatherette, and black is the only available color. Even though this is a sport variant, it still seats five, has 26.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, and offers a maximum cargo capacity of 59.3 cubic feet.
Technology
Similar to the regular Ioniq 5, the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is packed with technology, and all the high-end options you might find on the regular model are standard here. The N variant has dual 12.3-inch screens for the gauge cluster and infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 64-color ambient lighting, Bluelink Connected Car services, high-performance N pages and settings, heated and ventilated front seats, the ability to use your phone as a key, wireless phone charging, Bose premium audio, and more.
