Car looks pretty clean but it’s about 10k over priced for the mileage on vehicle. spoke to a few people some were slightly knowledgeable about upgrades to vehicle but some knew nothing at all not expecting every single person to know about it but nobody had a answer why the vehicle was so highly priced Apr 13, 2024

Not really a collectors item although low mileage clean units bring some money. I say not a collectors item because GM produced a lot of them!
Awesome rides none the less!Jan 03, 2022

This Impala SS has been my highway attack vehicle. Returns 25mpg on regular and with enough room to stretch out. The sofa front lounge area should have been designed for transportation. At speed or in the corners she performs. The faster you run her the lower to the ground she gets, no wonder cops loved the C-9-1 Impalas.Nov 26, 2014

Fast car , V8 big body make it bad on gas. GM classic style impala SS makes a good sport utility classic and complements how cars are suppose to be made. Gas in short the worst part but the ride complements the fuel consumption.Jun 11, 2014

Really fun to drive and great community of enthusiasts, especially here in Atlanta (ISSCA.org). Good room for a mechanic to work and maintenance is pretty cheap. Easy and clean layout of controls (not very tecky - it's a 96 go figure). If you like getting your hands dirty, this is a great car to work on. This style was only produced from '94-'96 and most consider '96 to be the best year of production. I would consider is one of the best 4 door muscle cars produced in the 90's maybe even late century. I'm also a little biased.Feb 13, 2014

I love this car! It gets a lot of attention from car guys. Whenever I take it in to the shop, someone always asks me if I would sell it! It has plenty room and is comfortable to drive. Also has some get up and go when I step on the gas.Sep 03, 2013

I really enjoyed this car. The drivability and looks were second to none. I turned heads wherever i went in it. On long trips it was a dream to drive. I would own another one in a heartbeat. Great American classic car. It is worth whatever you pay for one.May 05, 2013

I love this car period, from the engine, to the body style, to the digital dash. Sounds so beautiful with the flow master system. It just needs some easy ways to make the fuel economy a bit better but its not that bad.Apr 19, 2012

Best performance. Once you tighten up the engine, tune a few things, add a
couple components (professional), then you got yourself a true champion.
Maintenance is not that much unless you plan on running the car everyday. Very
fun too drive.Apr 07, 2012

I liked this car a lot. It was a Caprice/ Impala clone. It had a 4.3 liter V8 and all leather Impala interior. It had duel exhaust on it and I put on stock Impala wheels. It had a Sony explode stereo and CD changer.Nov 28, 2011

GM created a classic when they discontinued this great car. last of the full size rear whell marquee. balanced suspension and engine performance. very clean burning engine. takes turns with very little sway breaking the typical "boat" handling reputation of large cars. holds value better most cars.
i can find a fault for this car except wishing GM put in a big block motor.Apr 17, 2011

performance is good for the year of the car but as new cars come out to
compete got to put money in the drivetrain
build quality is pretty good the interior is kinda cheap
but the exterior and interior look sexy
gas mileage is poor and maintence is cheap
it is really fun and gets alot of attention Jun 21, 2010

Great torque off the line. Needs new springs, retainers and roller rockers (1.6) cause at 100,000 miles it's getting a little tired in higher RPM range. Looking for new paint job but it isn't all that bad for a 1996 relic. Eats gas like a '96 Chevy w/ LT1 but is a blast to drive, especially with a redone suspension. Jan 09, 2010

Classic styling with Gen II LT1 small block V8. Seriously de-tuned from the factory, but with bolt ons the car will run low 14s/high 13s. With a heads and cam package the LT1 will power this behemoth down the 1/4 in the 12s. Sep 01, 2009

great car, very reliable, 1 of very few great american muscle cars, especially love the pick up the 5.7 lt1 engine provides, the posi track rear suspension allows for great handling AT high speeds. You can't ask for much more in an american classicJun 14, 2009

I've owned my SS for about 6 years now. I bought it with 8500 mi on it and now has 44,000. I recently did ALOT of high performance mods to my car. I researched for about 6 months before I started my mods. I like everything about this car overall and what I didn't like I just made better. The stock performance for a 4,200 lb car was great. There were some issues with the build that was questionable however there are fixes for alot of them.(ie. odometer, window tilting, water in MAF) I didn't buy this car to gripe that it can drink some fuel. I bought it to have fun! Really if you stop to think about it, after first buying my car I did 3 mods - Hypertech download, air intake, exhaust. I was getting around 23 miles on the hwy. Now for a 4,200lb high performance LT1 - Not to bad! I have alot of hands on with my car not to mention my younger brother and mother had one also. Between theirs and mine I can say I'm pretty knowledgeable with 96 Impala SS. Jul 17, 2008

If you want a traditional muscle car (no turns here) then the impala is on of the best. Great stock platform to work with and the small block can be swapped with anything more modern if you should like.May 12, 2008

Although an older more luxurious make and style of car, the '94-'96 series of Impala SS are not to be underestimated. They handle well and have a really powerful pick-up when necessary. Aside from the sleek jet-black look (like mine) several other dark metallic colors are available to make your car look its best. Most people recognize these bodies as the 1990s style of police unit vehicles. The reason is obivous, they're sturdy, reliable, easily modifiable, and perform with fantastic finesse.Apr 29, 2008

I like older cars and new cars but relutcant to purchase anything not under a warranty due to the money we've poured into this car and recurring problems it had given us. When it's running he loves the care Apr 21, 2008

I LOVED this car. Again I saw in a Road & Track quarter mile and it was still a concept car. I acquired the car in 1998 and drove it until 3/07 when I sold it on Ebay to get the '07 Dodge Magnum SRT8. I cried like a baby. I still miss it. Jan 16, 2008
