Love the sound and feel of this beauty. T-tops out and the pedal down is the only way to go with this one. Styling is spot on, performance could be better but emissions had bleed her dry by 81. Not everyones dream car, was not even mine until I saw her and it was love at first sight. 350 cubic inches and 4 speed trans are a great way to melt away a stressful day.Jan 31, 2015

A very purpose built car. Not designed as a grocery getter, it's designed to go
fast and look good doing it. My particular example has unbelievable power
thanks to a high performance 383 stroker under the hood. Accelerates in an
instant. Handling is above average for a car of the time period. Brakes are
sufficient. These cars do have some squeaks/rattles/interior noise, but its all
part of the charm of a muscle car. Appearance is spot on for a late 70's
sports/muscle car. Maintenance costs on a car of this age all have to do with
how it was cared for the past 30 years. The gas mileage of a carbureted V8
definitely is no high point. But you get what you expect to get with this type of
vehicle. As far as fun factor goes, I have yet to experience anything better. T-
tops definitely add to the experience.Dec 02, 2013

It was a Great first car. It was very appealing to the eye and would run with some of the slower v8's and tuned 4 & 6 cylinder's. Very reliable and built like a tank. Door Handles stripped out every 4-6 months. Nov 24, 2013

I love my car more than life its self. Takes a ton of money in up keep but its worth it in the end. i can dump the clutch and roast the tires off any time any place. there is nothing better than driving an old car down a dark road with just the engine as your music and the highway as your play ground. She runs like she looks I love my car. I have done a few modifications so she handles alot better than stock set up. A few upgrades to the engine and she is faster than the day she was born.Apr 07, 2012

No matter what, good or bad, I LOVE this car. Good old American muscle. Yeah it's heavy, but I'd rather get in an accident with this than any new car on the road today! I think air bags cause more problems than they are worth.Oct 19, 2011

Well, it gets unbeleivable gas mileage right now!!! I will try and keep it as original as possible, exept for a 700r4 transmission for the overdrive and some sort of fuel injection system for best gas mileage and tunabilaty/performance.Aug 13, 2011

What I really love about this car is the styling. Second Generation Camaros are my favorite. For having a 305, automatic transmission, and 30+ year old suspension, it can really kick ass! It's just a work in progress which I am thinking about selling, but I'm not too sure. I would really like to get a 2006 Pontiac GTO or a 1993 GMC Typhoon. Jul 30, 2010

What I like about this car, it is old and it has potential to be a very nice peice of automotive art. What I do not like about it is the old technology some of the 80's ugly and the fact that it is going to cost me alot of cash to put it the way I want it. I want to mix it up, old and new.... a 383 stroker, Hotchkis Suspension
4 wheel disk breaks, rack and pinion steering, 17 inch wheels, lower it 2 inches, older interior, newer gauge cluster, Black, Pweter, Red with red interior. Leather/ Sued interior, full dual exhaust, pollished tips and a hidden modern sound system. Power windows, door locks, trunk, mirrors, air conditioning, fuel injected and quick.Jul 03, 2010

muscle car at its best. performance till today is unbelievable, hardly needs repairs, has been built to out last our generation, interior is clean and user friendly and the exterior is slick. if u own an elephant u have to feed it, mileage is not that good but than i am not bothered about it. i do drive it on a daily basis and enjoy every moment while doing so. fun to drive? u have to drive it to find out how much fun it is.May 07, 2010

Best year camaro ever made. Suspension was great stock and
still is. Performance suffered due to the oil crisis in the late
70s, but the motors respond very well to performance parts. I
love mine, and I will never sell it.Feb 20, 2010

My 1971 Camaro was the base model with a 250 cubic inch L6, 3 speed automatic. The six cylinder was no great performer but it was reliable and fairly economical. The car handled well, after some upgrades and suspension modifications. It would have been better with a small block V8.Aug 22, 2009

Performance- It had a bit done, so it was quick
enough for me.
Build Quality- Well I know enough to keep an old
car running, just have to put in the work.
Appearance- You either love it or hate it.
Cost of Ownership- It's an old car with a V8 and
4.10s, it's going to drain you pretty quick.
Fun Factor- Hmm, 4-speed, 4.10s, hopped up 350,
sounds like my idea of a fun car!Jul 10, 2009

Pretty much a tank of a car that was limited due to government regulations. Loved this car. Perfect for a 16 year old kid to own and learn to drive clutch on.
Put a little money into the car to get it inspected and on the road....but nothing to be too concerned about. Wish I could have kept this car longer, but mother nature was determined to do otherwise. Sep 25, 2008

This car has been in the family of friends for many
years. It is now in the process of being restored after
sitting since 1992. Body work is halfway there.
Mechanical work is practically done. It'll be pretty cool
when it's finished. This car is surely one of a kind.Aug 07, 2008

Almost 10 Years working on this car...(some years more works than others).
Almost finished it's transformation to 197'0 RS Looks :D
Interior is very simple, will have a full rollcage soon. Dash with Autometer Gauges already built and two racing front seats with.
Exterior is under transformation, new color will be titaniun gray with black inserts and of course, front and rear 1970 Rally Sport looks.
This car is VERY fun to drive, you can search "chatarro" on youtube and see what I mean.

This is what being a teenager is all about. Different generations have different cars that fit
this bill but this is a perennial. Put any teenage boy behind the wheel of this and they will
want it. 5.7L V8, 4-speed manual transmission, power brakes, rear wheel drive with a
3.73:1 positraction rear end. Seriously?
Yes! And boy does this sucker go! Still a bit before overdrives, the 4-speed was a thrill to
row through. Don't wanna row through gears? Put it in 3rd and start out and do 0 to 110.
That's called "tractable" kids.
Alloy wheels looked sharp and it even had a tiny back seat if you wanna cram your friends
in for a short trip across town. They won't wanna be stuck there for long trips however.
This car was great. Fast, reliable, easy to work on, parts are cheap and plentiful. The
ONLY negative was gas mileage... but face it when you have a Z/28 you know what you're
getting into. This is a great car for two - using the backseat and little trunk for your road
trip needs.Feb 14, 2008

I owned a 74 Camaro Type LT Z28. Completely restored it myself. Original 350ci 245 HP Aluminum valve covers. Dual snorkle air cleaner. M21 Muncie 4-speed. Midnight blue. I loved the car. I want to find me another one.Apr 30, 2007
