Perfect vehicle for what our family was looking for. Well maintained and priced appropriately. Minor scuffs and nothing mechanical is amiss. Compared to other vehicles of its age this is an Excellent Value.Dec 24, 2022

I think its an excellent vehicle. Fun to drive and powerful. I also think it would be an expensive car to own. BMWs are known to be expensive to repair, and this one already has some issues. The only car Ive driven similar to the X3 was a Honda CR-V. The BMW is noticeably tighter and more responsive. As I said, an excellent vehicle - just out of my financial reach.Aug 18, 2020

First time in a BMW and I will continue to buy them. Love how it handles, it is just a really great car to drive. I can go 90 miles an hour before I realize it-it rides that smooth. I feel good driving this car and I have owned my share of cars. Apr 23, 2015

This car is incredibly fun to drive. With 240 HP, it accelerates nicely and can climb hills like no other. Great for driving in the mountains! The handling could not be better. The traction control keeps you from getting into trouble when you need it.Sep 07, 2014

Incredibly comfortable for a family, for short trips or long travel. Lots of space to haul gear. Great power, and handles like a car. Very safe, with AWD, lots of airbags and other features. Beautiful on the inside and out. I love the leatherette seating - easy to wipe clean, great to the touch, doesn't get too hot or cold, with heated seats for winter comfort! Great tuck-away storage compartments to keep organized. Very maneuverable in traffic and parking lots - tight "turn radius" for parking. BMW thought of every comfort, safety, and convenience, and packed it all into a fun, sporty, and versatile package! The ultimate driving machine.Jul 16, 2014

The look is great Rides with comfort and a tight fit. You'll sit like a glove in the X3. Has the extra power when you need it, The gas millage is not bad, the X3 controls like a sport car with the nice steering. Real solid car you can feel.May 06, 2014

Tech connectivity requirements drove me to upgrade to a newer model, but really the 2007 BMW X3 3.0Si is a better, tighter car that is more fun to drive. The drive train is the pinnacle of a perfect naturally aspirated in-line 6 cylinder and a tight 6 speed Triptronic transmission. There is always power. The car is always quick, responsive and accelerating and decelerating. Breaking is solid and vibration free. Comforts are plenty, without being a "fru-fru" car.Apr 02, 2013

It's a great little SUV or SAV as Bimmer likes to call them. It drives like any other BMW which is saying it's the "Ultimate Driving Machine". Not sure about that, but having owned a few and driven many. They are great! The 3.0i engine could use a little more HP, but the plus side is, I don't have to worry about turbo maintenance someday. Overall, it another great BMW.Feb 27, 2013

This is a very good car. It is quite roomy. Has a good gas mileage. Drives like a sedan. It has some of the best brakes in a any car I have driven. Very good handling in rain. Very good pickup, easy to go fast. Oct 02, 2012

Love handling, quality, durability and beautiful interior craftsmanship. AWD makes this versatile all weather vehicle loaded with safety features to keep you safe in sow, rain at beach or mountains.

Sporty! A fun to drive BMW, handles well, and is comfortable! I have always felt safe and in control while behind the wheel. The only con might be its size, might not be the best fit for a family of 4... But it's been great for me!Aug 10, 2012

Handling is good but not bad.no rattles or squeaky sounds but has a
few scratches and small dent on the front bumper.this car is very fun
to drive around on a race track or to cruise along on the highway

The BMW brand was in my mind over-rated until we bought this puppy. I also had a 2000 Mercedes ML 320 - which the BMW X3 was built to compete against. The BMW was as powerful and much smoother on the road.
My ML was sturdy and dependable, but not as nicely appointed. Both are great highway cars, but my next car will be a BMW!Jul 16, 2010

The x3 got a face lift in 2006, this face lift also included a new engine.
The previous 2.5 slant 6 is gone and a new 265 horse power 3.0 slant
6 makes the car feel more lively and more torquey at lower revs. The
x3 is easily faster than its competitors, the the land rover lr2 and the
audi q5. The x3 also had a new suspension added, this seems like a
good thing, but trust me its not. The ride is hopelessly hard and the
suspension has little to no give over bumps. The result is that when
you get to a speed bump you find your self going almost too slow, just
so that you don't over work your spine. The plus side of the stiff
suspension is good handling, the x3 is more like a car in its handling,
it doesn't feel out of place on a twisty road, the "x-drive" helps you
place the car exactly where you want it, along with very tight
responsive steering. You have confidence when you turn into a corner
at speeds at which you wouldn't normally in an SUV, but then
technically its not an SUV, its an SAV according to BMW. Which stands
for sport activity vehicle. I hope those activities don't involve going off
road, because if they do, then your not going to go very far. The x3,
despite being a four wheel drive vehicle that sits higher up than a car,
the x3 is not the right chose when the road gets rough. The tires the
x3 comes stock with are slick expensive street tires, they offer little
grip on a off road surface. Also the stiff suspension would not take
the rough surface well either. The interior has not been changed. The
x3 doesn't offer real leather instead is has more durable pvc, this
means if you spill something on it it can be wiped right off. The dash
is easy to read and the radio and climate controls are easy to operate.
All and all the BMW x3 3.0 is a very good car. it offers speed, torque,
and handling to those who want an SUV. The ride is on of the main
things holding it back, but the car was designed for more younger
people who wouldn't mind the ride as much.Jun 28, 2010

There is no comparison in quality of build and luxury when it comes to BMW. The car literally pampered me every moment I was in it. The heated seats and steering wheel were excellent in the winter and the panoramic sunroof was amazing in the summer.
As a performance driven luxury line, the acceleration/braking/handling of the care was top notch and incomparable to other cars of it's class. It would glide over the roads no matter the condition.
Build quality aspect was phenomenal. Not one single issue to report.
Appearance of the car was beautiful and elegant with a touch of sportiness.
Cost of Ownership wasn't an issue really...outside of requiring premium fuel to run on, but at 23.2mpg fuel ups were a good distance between. Maintenance costs were $0, as it still has factory warranty that covers everything from wiper blades to brakes and more.
The car was a blast! Though I recently traded it for a truck, as my lifestyle has changed I loved every minute of driving my BMW.Feb 18, 2010

First of all, i have a 3.0 diesel with the 218 hp engine that is
tuned up so i have 266 hp and 600 nm. That engine takes me
from 50 kmh to 110 kmh in 5 seconds only using third gear!!!
Not so many other cars can do that.
I like the X3 becaus it´s an amazing car that has the
performance of a sports car and still it is a very comfortable
car to drive. I live upnorth in Sweden so several months of the
year we have REAL winter roads with much snow and in those
conditions the X-drive is a very useful item, it feels secure..Dec 21, 2009

Great family vehicle with the performance of a BMW! Very responsive motor... As far as repairs they are few and far between. There have been a few cabin repairs, black finish wearing off of the steering wheel, but nothing mechanical.Oct 11, 2009

I love this car, its got power for a sport utility vehicle, and I feel very safe, being high up. Perfect choice for me. It can be a gas guzzler, but the performance is well worth it. I have it almost fully loaded, with the exception of the navigation system, but hey who needs a navi...Oct 10, 2009

This SAV is absolutely wonderful. If you don't like those huge SUVs this is the way to go! It is part of the Ultimate Driving Maching Fleet! Jan 19, 2008

the steering is way too light and the electronic throttle freaks me out. the seats can be a bit uncomfortable for long drives, but they do provide good grip and feel for the driver. the sports package is a bit rough with the factory 18" wheels but steers very diectly. the engine is a bit too "top end" for my liking, as you have to go half throttle or more to get it movingNov 05, 2007

I was looking for an SUV that drove like a sedan, but sat up a bit higher with some decent
cargo space. This SUV fits the bill. The SUV has very nice handling with decent power. Flip
it into sport mode and it will allow you to run all the way to redline without babying you by
shifting early.
The interior is typical BMW class with decent frills. I elected to install the iPod adapter,
which works so so. You have to program specific playlists and the unit does not display
the track information. Kind of lame in my opinion.
The bluetooth hookup works well with some phones like the Blackberry 8700C and the
Motorola Razr. The Nokia E62 does not work at all with this particular car.
Overall I would recommend this SUV to anyone in the market for a smaller SUV. I did look
at the RSX, but felt that the interior was rather cheesy.
