The E36 BMW M3 is an iconic vehicle, it handles well and keeps up with most vehicles from that era. Its great for a weekend track day or driving it around town and with the reliability of the inline six cylinder it wont leave you stranded!Feb 03, 2015

My 1997 M3 sedan will always hold a place in my heart. I will always miss her. I wish I had never sold it. Should've kept it and bought a Honda Civic as my daily driver. You just can't beat the handling and balance of this car. Also the shape and lines of the sedan will always be iconic my eyes.Nov 26, 2013

Dinan built race car. Originally built to be raced in World Challenge series, and later raced in BMW Club. Class and overall winner multiple times. Easy to set up and maintain. Low weight and high horsepower car. Professionally built by Dinan.Oct 23, 2013

Car has a S52 swap that was converted back to OBDI. Has a turner motorsports tune, full catless exhaust and sounds great and has plenty of power to get yourself in trouble. Has full track suspension from ground control coilovers to camber plates, adjustable rear links, sway bars and strut brace. Interior is nicely appointed in the typical style of the day, but a little cramped if more than two on a trip. Basically this is my toy and it is a complete hoot to drive. Makes me smile everytime I drive it!May 07, 2013

If you love to drive a car, feel the road, be engaged with the experience, then this is one of the best cars you could own. Just make sure you get the car inspected by a BMW specialist prior to purchase, it could save you a lot of troubles.Feb 12, 2013

The Dinan badge on this 1999 BMW M Roadster is for real and professional upgrade costs were about $10,000.00. With that in mind this car is by no means overpriced. All
technical upgrade work done on this car was of the highest quality.Jun 17, 2012

Performance - Great engine respond, handling and break
Build Quality - A little higher than others but acceptable
Appearance - Looks like normal but she isn't
Cost of Ownership - The more gas you push, the more you pay for it
Fun Factor - She's extremely fun to driveOct 20, 2011

This car runs great and all works very well.Exterior is very good. Interior is nice however the seats have become torn and it now has seat covers on the front bucket seats and shows much better. Engine is excellent and doesn't miss a beat. It is very quick and smooth. Clarion stereo system, power windows, locks, sunroof, like new tires. It has recently had new rear wheel bearings, clutch, head gasket, radiator, interior head liner and thouroughly gone through by a BMW specific mechanic. It is an absolute sports car in good condition.Jan 22, 2011

Great, understated looks - still!
Fantastic performance, amazing BMW build quality, handles like a dream just like a BMW M3 should.
Good gas mileage if driven normally.
Maintenance and replacement parts are a bit pricey but they don't fail that often.

Absolutely LOVE this car... Great acceleration, great handling, a blast to drive. Stand on the brakes, and it will stop on a dime and give you change. Most repairs are fairly inexpensive, but maintenance items (brakes etc) are generally more expensive than on some other cars. Currently getting 21-23mpg around town, but it has a misfire. When it is running correctly, I get 22-25mpg. Not bad for a car that has a fun factor this high, and will run circles around a lot of the cars out there today.Aug 16, 2010

I love this car because you feel very young, almost like the time when you first got into the out run game at the fair and thought you were really driving. Performance is fantastic but if you drive hard it drinks hard, very hard. Build quality is very good, it is German after all. I personally like the minimilistic look of the E36 interior but it may not suit everyone. Not as expensive to run as i thought it would be, some parts are expensive but some are suprisingly good value. for me this is deffinately a very fun car to drive but go that little bit too hard and it will bite you!Jul 20, 2010

Handling that exceeds cars 10x the price, FUN and addictive to drive. Repairs are costly and frequent, but that goes the same with ANY heavily modified vehicle... Absolute blast to drive and scare the hell out of your friends when you get the chance!Nov 25, 2009

Pure top down, wind in your face, diving pleasure. There are other convertibles that offer more in the way of raw performance, but none that just work so perfectly together -- it's much more than the sum of its parts. And you can drive the daylights out of the 1.9 liter motor without losing your license.
Perfect handling, neutral to power-on oversteer. One of the best looking cars of the past 30 years. Top goes up or down in seconds -- with no complicated power mechanisms.Oct 29, 2009

The performance is incredible, and it has the best mid
range torque. The smooth inline 6 combined with one
of bmw's famous 5 speed manual gear boxes, and
some stop tech brakes makes the car more than I
imagined possible. Oct 20, 2009

The most fantastically fun car I have ever driven! Wicked fast, pinpoint handling, gets better mileage than my truck and any car I have ever owned (160 MPH econocar?) in an elegant package...if you are a performance car fan you need to drive one of these!Aug 24, 2009

Amazing road car, great engine, inexpensive to buy, it's a tank. Expensive to maintain, a bit heavy and soft for track use. Easy to drive if you're awake, the LSD is great on track and in the wet. Plenty of room in the back, all necessary amenities, but please don't use it in the winter, it'll be less expensive to buy a beater in the long run.Jun 30, 2009

Absolutely awesome all round,i loved this car and would reccomend it to anyone, performance is amazing, handling is excellent, apart from when its wet tends to be a bit flighty.build quality is excellent, maintenance costs can be expensive, depreciation can be high but what car does,nt and you tend to spend alot of time in the petrol station.Jun 29, 2009

1996 BMW M3. 3.2 liter Inline-6, 5-speed Manual Transmission. Silver on Black. Limited Slip Differential, Traction Control, Leather Seats, Heated Seats, Power Seats, Sunroof, Electronic Climate Control.
This car has eveything you need. Its fast and sporty, but comfortable at the same time. Do 155mph and not even know it. This car feels like its on rails while taking turns at high speed, and stops on a dime, lots of confidence behind the wheel. The only con I have is the stock sound system is sub-par and was one of the first thing I changed. There arn't many nice E36 M3's out there, real ones atleast. The car is not meant to be a head turner, but I do get compliments. Great Car.Apr 19, 2008

The 2nd generation M3 from BMW putting out 240 hp and roughly the same in torque. At roughly 3100 lbs, it churns out a 0-60 time of roughly 5.5 seconds. This particular model year (1997) only comes with a standard transmission and the infamous "vader" seats.
With a nearly 50/50 weight distribution, this car handles amazingly. Great track car right out of the box. ;)

Probably the most fun car I have driven. Handled like a dream with the lowering springs, was not the fastest, but was quick and had an awsome powercurve. I loved the exterior looks, and although dated, was really one of my favorite of the true BMW's. Interior was also slightly dated, but the Vader seats were a dream to sit in, and high quality materials wer still used.Mar 14, 2008
