2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Preview summaryImage

For 2020, every Mercedes-Benz C-Class receives more standard equipment. Mercedes-Benz makes its AMG Drive Unit, which is a driver-selectable traction system, optional for the AMG 43 coupe and cabriolet, and all AMG 43 versions equipped with 19-inch wheels benefit from a higher 155-mph top speed.

The C-Class was one of the first Mercedes-Benz models to showcase the company’s current design cues. It's sleek and clean in appearance with balanced body proportions. Three versions of the popular 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class stand ready to serve your entry-level luxury car requirements. The C 300 has a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. An AWD system is optional for this version and buyers can choose between Luxury and Sport design and tuning. Special AMG cosmetic upgrades are available in the form of unique wheels, grilles, and bumper designs.

Upgrade to the AMG C 43, and the C-Class features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 generating 385 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. Like the C 300, the AMG C 43 has a 9-speed automatic transmission, but in this version, it’s performance-tuned. The AMG 43 includes AWD as standard equipment.

The AMG C 63 gets a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, a 9-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission (MCT), and a Race Start launch-control function. This version of the C-Class generates a thundering 469 hp and 479 lb-ft, and if that’s not enough for you, the AMG C 63 S boosts output up to 503 hp and 516 lb-ft.

Inside, plenty of visual jewelry delights the eyes. This is a cabin purposely styled and detailed to swaddle owners and their passengers in luxury. For 2020, the AMG C 43 sedan gains a standard Burmester premium surround sound system and 64-color ambient lighting.

Unlike other new Mercedes-Benz models, the C-Class does not have the company’s latest Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment technology. It does provide a 10.25-inch display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Upgrades include satellite radio, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a WiFi hotspot.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a driver-monitoring system, and an SOS emergency-calling service for the lifetime of the vehicle. The company’s Pre-Safe technology, which prepares the cabin and occupants for an impending frontal collision, also comes standard.

A leader in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), Mercedes-Benz offers a long list of available driving aid and collision-avoidance technologies. Among the more uncommon features is Car-to-X technology, which means the C-Class can transmit data about road hazards to other C-Class drivers in the area. Other safety options include evasive steering assist and active emergency-stop assist. In 2019, the C-Class sedan earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Crash-test assessments for the C-Class coupe and cabriolet are unavailable.

Facing renewed competition from the BMW 3 Series, Volvo S60, Cadillac CT4, and Genesis G70, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class lineup remains appealing in spite of the car’s advancing age.

This cars color fascinates me and the truth is that the car made me look like a child when I saw it and it was a very good, comfortable, safe car with a very wide view of the road with anti-choke systems that provide a lot of safety when driving it and without saying the accent it is what most It leads me to choose a C class seat, it gives you security and comfort, I always say it, I always say it, I am happy to drive it just by sitting in that seat.Mar 11, 2024
