Why did my change oil soon light appear at 1600 miles?
I am at 1600 miles and my change oil soon light has come on. I will be calling the dealership on Monday. Why is this happening?

The Ford EcoSport is the newest and smallest nameplate in the brand’s crossover lineup. The EcoSport competes with the Chevrolet Trax, Hyundai Kona, and Mitsubishi Outlander. For 2020, it doesn’t have any notable updates.
The standard engine for the EcoSport is a turbocharged 1.0-liter inline 3-cylinder engine that produces 123 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque. You can upgrade to a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 166 hp and 149 lb-ft of torque. The smaller engine comes in front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration, while the larger one gets you all-wheel drive (AWD). Both engines come with standard start-stop and pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy stands as high as 27 mpg city, 29 highway, and 28 combined for the turbocharged 1.0-liter and 23/29/25 for the 2.0-liter engine.
The lineup goes unchanged, so the same S, SE, SES, and Titanium trims remain for 2020. The S comes standard with black mirrors and door handles, a 6-speaker audio system, two smart-charging USB ports, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The SE gets you color-keyed door handles and mirrors, a 6-way power driver’s seat satellite radio, keyless access and start, a sunroof, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, automatic climate control, LED signature lighting, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is newly standard on the SE for 2020. The optional SE Convenience package tacks on ambient lighting, navigation, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and a 110-volt outlet.
The SES comes with a unique sporty blackout treatment, ambient lighting, a sport-tuned suspension, the 2.0-liter/AWD combination, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and navigation. You can add an SES Black Appearance Package, which makes the EcoSport look even sportier, with a black painted roof, a black spoiler, and a black hood decal.
Finally, the Titanium bundles a 675-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system, leather upholstery, and smart-charging USB outlets.
On the safety front, every EcoSport gets forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and a reversing camera. From there, the only other options are blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and reversing sensors. The EcoSport has not been fully crash-tested by either the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The Ford EcoSport hides a lot of content and value within its tiny footprint.

The EcoSport is based on the Ford Fiesta which joins the party of axing all cars in America by the big 3 in favor of SUVs.
SUVs have taken.over the industry outselling cars by a 2 to 1 margin. You dont know what you got till its gone. Cars have a place in my view. Especially mid to big cars. Hard to find now. GM makes the horrible Malibu. Thats it. Cadillac has a few cars left. Ford has none. Mopar has the Chrysler 300 and thats it..Dodge has the Charger I think its still being made. Dart and Chrysler 200 are extinct..
It was like a disease spread through the industry killing cars off. The only reason is this....
SUVs have an average profit of 35 percent while cars were averaging in the high teens profit.
Dont waste time comparing benefits between cars VS SUVs.
A mistake, a complete overreaction has taken place and it will be corrected. Cars will come back in favor as soon as the flame of SUVs flickers and dies.
The EcoSport is tiny on the outside but reasonable space is found in the cockpit. Im six foot 3 inches tall and I had plenty of head room and leg room as the sole driver. The backseat was flat and wide but leg room didnt exist unless the driver was 3 feet tall. I left the seats folded at all times since I dont have kids. With the seats folded there was plenty of room for luggage groceries, and bags of mulch.
The S model lacked important safety features like BSM, LKA, FCP, all those letters in safety are good. They help big time. Get the SE for sure. It adds a sunroof and heated seats plus some safety tech.
The EcoSport has a bullet proof and sound proof windshield which is cool. There are more airbags than any other. The whole top has a rollover curtain airbag that spans front and back. Knee bags and air bags for every body part even for future body parts that have not yet evolved in the human species.
The ride pummels you to near concussion levels. Slamming over potholes like riding in a metal cart. The 2.0 naturally aspired 4 cyl engine lacks power. The reverse gear is to floor the car. You seem to go in reverse compared to every other car except the 3 cyl 1.0 liter Ford EcoSport. The FWD EcoSport has the 3 cylinder engine. AWD models have the 2.0 liter. This lack of power combined with the absence of the safety tech features left a constant desire to park it and walk.
The reliability was fine and the fit and finish was good. Well made. Fair in the snow. It always makes sense to get dedicated snow tires for one main reason....ICE! Regular all season tires are OK in the snow but to have a tire made for ice is worth every penny..peace of Mind costs money. Tires are negotiable in price when you buy 4 new ones.
If you drive very little the EcoSport can be a good buy. Its simple to operate and gets the job done. Dont enter any races and dont worry about getting shot at or wrecking since the 50 airbags make wrecking a wonderful experience. I really prefer having deterrents to accidents which is the major reason I sold the EcoSport. My job changed from 8 miles to 70 miles. So I bought a Prius. Look for my Prius review coming soon.
I had the best color combo. White with black.plastic accents. 2021 AWD 2.0 liter. Sold it with less than 5,000 miles driven.

There is a lot to love about the SES trim, with the 2l, 4cylinder engine and 4x4 configuration. Great tech, stylish body lines, very agile, and exceedingly reliable. The only places it loses points is that the power is a little lacking for its class (although plenty for anybody prone to picking one up). The un-reconfigured cargo space is pretty limited, but this is almost completely cured by dropping the back seats and setting the cargo panel on the installed shelf tabs. Although the front has exceptional space, the rear seats are a bit cramped. Overall, this is a pretty great car, and Ford could have made a couple minor modifications and not discontinued it, and it would have been a great car. It came SO close to a 5-star rating from me.May 02, 2022

This car is comfortable but the ride is a little choppy. The little 2.0 I4 engine has to work pretty hard to get going on the highway. The SES model was pricey I think. Getting a dealer demo with a couple thousand miles on it made it more reasonably priced. The Escape had a 3 cylinders in the model about the same price and I wasnt on board with that. The SES Ecosport has most of the electronic stuff, back up camera, controlls on the steering wheel, warning for blind spot. Mileage on the way home was 32. My Taurus averaged 25 mpg on the same trip. It was a 270hp V6. The tree huggers and climate change alarmists can keep their electric cars. Mine helps the trees grow.Mar 28, 2021
