The car was dirty, the sun roof was not installed right it looked like it was welded in someones back yard with no experience, May 20, 2024

I own a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, which I purchased new. I cannot drive the car on a small patch of snow without it sliding. Last winter, I pulled into my parking space, which only had a tiny, 4 inch wide patch of snow covering it, and the car slid going over it. Only one of the front tires hit it, but it slid anyway. Ridiculous. This car is only good for areas of the country that do not have snow. The seat belts also do not work/engage. I took it to dealership and reported the problem. They brought someone in from Hyundai to check it. I was told the computer looked fine so there was nothing wrong with the seat belts. That was the answer I got, which told me he didnt bother to put one on. I told them to take the car out, accelerate to 55 miles per hour and slam on brakes, then tell me if the seat belts engage. They refused. In 2016, a driver pulled across my lane and I t-boned him. We were all wearing our seat belts, yet my moms chest hit the dash while in the passenger seat and my adult daughter, who was sitting in the back seat, flew forward hitting the back of my seat, breaking her glasses. The steering wheel broke my forward acceleration. Again, the seat belts did not engage. In another situation, which occurred a week and half after purchasing the car, someone rear ended me. The seat belt didnt engage then either, and my face hit the steering wheel, breaking my nose. But Hyundai had the nerve to tell me there was nothing wrong with the seat belts. To this day, they dont lock or engage. I do not feel safe in this car and will never own another one. If myself or anyone is ever seriously injured in this car, Hyundai will be facing a major law suit. I reported the problem, and they chose to blow it off. And I still have the name and phone number of the person from Hyundai who looked at it once I reported it. Although the car handles nice otherwise, I would never recommend this car to anyone who values their safety or their life. Dec 31, 2021

I got in my 2011 limited one evening at 11 pm after parking it at 6pm. I drove 500ft to a gas station parked and went in. Came out stuck the key in the ignition and it would not fire up. Everything comes on and works but all I hear is click click click click. Ive yet to be able to get it started.Nov 02, 2021

The factory tires did not last long...had to replace at 30,000 and Hyundai reimbursed me half for a new set which was awesome! The only reason I bought a new car was because I wanted a convertible. I would consider purchasing another in the future!Nov 16, 2014

I love my car, it is small, cute and sexy, I think I hate my dealership more than anything else. It handles good, good gas mileage, good ride for long distance, could be quieter. Tires that came with car could have been better. The acceleration is good, braking is good, so far I have not had to pay out a lot in maintenance or repair. Very satisfied with this car handles well on the highway and in town. Power and acceleration are something to get used. Bluetooth is great with my iPhone jump in and it's ready to go. The pros out way the cons by a long shot You'll be happy with this car.May 29, 2013

Most of the car was great! bucket seats are great! Back seat leg room ..and trunk room is small.. could use a better spare Radio controls arn't driver friendly. Brakes are very good .other than that , .this is a great car.Oct 30, 2012

Loved the price--received quotes from 10 dealerships within 75 miles through truecar.com, Costco.com, AAA, and San Diego County Credit Union and Steve Cooke at Hardin Hyundai could not/would not be beat. This was my first excellent, NO PRESSURE car buying experience in 35 years. I did extensive research and the Hyundai Elantra sold itself on price, performance, safety, styling and the warranty. I have a 2011 Elantra that normally starts and runs fine. Sometimes when not used over a long weekend, it wont start. The starter turns over the engine but it just doesn't catch. It's like its missing either fuel or spark. Sometimes stepping on the gas while cranking will fix it and the engine goes. Taking it to dealer has not helped since we cannot recreate the problem. Any ideas?

2011 Hyundai Elantra Airbag Light NOT Working
The airbag light in my 2011 Elantra does NOT illuminate at all when starting my car, while all other lights DO. Normally it would turn on for a few seconds and then go off to indicate the system is OK. Nearly every single article I find is about a light that is stuck on, but almost nothing about a light that doesn't work. I've thought about replacing a bulb but from what I have read this light is an LED... Any ideas what I can check? I replaced the "AIRBAG/IND" fuse with a spare for good measure and no luck. Didn't look blown but I tried it anyway.
