Should I keep my Speed 3?
I currently own a '10 Mazdaspeed 3 and, after i'm done paying it, I was wondering if I should : 1. Keep it 2. Get an Evo X (manual) 3. Get a 135i (manual)

Last year, the 2009 Mazda MAZDASPEED3 earned third place in Motor Trend’s “Small, Fast, Fun” comparison, and apparently Mazda wasn’t happy with that. For 2010, the MAZDASPEED3 underwent an extensive redesign and styling upgrade that resulted in improvements to the transmission, suspension, and electronics, as well as fresh and functional aesthetic changes.
Just like the rest of the Mazda line, this front-wheel-drive hatchback gets the Nagare treatment, a Japanese word translating to “flow,” resulting in a new lower air dam and hood scoop bookending the new smiley-face grille. Following along the side, new side skirts lead the eye around the vehicle, showing off the larger-diameter dual exhaust tips, a larger wing, and wheels that have increased in width by half an inch.
The big changes happen under the skin, specifically in the suspension. Stiffer springs and increased damping improve both the MacPherson front strut and multi-link rear suspension, and thicker sheetmetal in high-stress locations results in what Mazda claims is a 2% increase in torsional rigidity.
The six-speed manual transmission has also been reworked with taller gearing for all but first and sixth. This, in conjunction with a larger hood scoop producing increased airflow and a new intake duct, was applied in an effort to increase overall efficiency. Braking and steering have been similarly reworked, ditching the respective mechanical and hydraulic systems for electronic units that provide an unevenly progressive ratio for the steering and an assist system for the braking. Mazda also added a torque-sensing conical limited-slip differential and a re-engineered torque-management system to deal with all the power put out by the direct-injected, 2.3-liter, turbocharged, 263-hp four-cylinder engine.
A unique interior shows off its namesake, with a MAZDASPEED3 emblem and red stitching on the bucket seats, as well as an LED boost gauge in the otherwise standard cluster, a first in the MAZDASPEED3. For those who want a bit of luxury, grab the optional Tech Package to add keyless ignition, a 5-channel Bose 6-CD satellite radio, and a navigation system with alarm.
With all these upgrades, it looks like Mazda is aiming for first place this time around. The 2010 MAZDASPEED3 won’t be released until November, however, so we’ll have to wait to see if they got it right.

Well its fun to drive, looks great and is quick. Mine apparently has a warn out motor at only 122,000 miles. Dealer reset my codes, put in a can of freon and sent me on my way. Codes came up immediately and air conditioner stopped blowing cold air. Nice car, too many problems. I believe the previous owner neglected service.May 20, 2024

Blast to drive. Head turner. very easy to maintain. FAST. I can honestly say since I have purchased her, I have not had any problems AT ALL. The only thing I dont like is it is so hard to keep the Hatch clean!Sep 17, 2014

This car is a good transportation vehicle, used for local driving and occasional highway trips. The family can fit enough suitcases in the trunk and the back seat has always been great for the sonny to get in a good nap.Feb 04, 2014

It was between this and the Impreza. Ultimately, I chose the mazda because of its peppy engine, unique styling, and great price. Although I do hold a special place in my heart for subarus, buying new is just too expensive. Very happy with my choice!May 01, 2012

I love this car its handling is excellent and its acceleration is insane for what it is. I have never walked out to a parking lot and had trouble finding my car. This car is so unique and aggressive looking. The fuel consumption and cost is not the greatest but for a sports car it very good. The interior is the only flaw, the red and black accents are the only option regardless of the exterior color. All in all the car is an absolute joy to own have a smile on my face everytime i get behind the wheel.Dec 16, 2011

Perfrmance: acceleration 0-100 7seg, braking: very good, handling:very good
Build Quality: dont need any repairs hae a good motor and a good sound
Appearance: i like the interior couse its like deportive
Cost of ownership: serivce are very cheaper but u need to expend alot on gas

I bought my Mazdaspeed 3 in June of 2010. It's a great car with more power than it can handle. BIGTIME value. There is no better car on the market for the money. There are some quirks to the car, like torque steer, but I think that makes it all the more fun to drive. Unfortuanly, I live in South Florida where there are few turns, no hills and lots of traffic. So I live for the few seconds that can be had spoiling up the turbo on highway on-ramps.Apr 05, 2011

NOT BAD CAR
Firstly, the engine two liters, which
previously was only on the mechanics. I read a
lot of reviews that M3 with the engine "does»
BMW at the start. As a result of a two-month
operation will say that the dynamics there, but
here behu hardly "break" even at the start.
Perhaps the dynamics a bit better on a
mechanical box, but not so much to participate
in street racing.
In general, the dynamics Pleasant, overtaking
come easy and naturally. There was full
confidence that the maneuver is completed as
planned, and will not depend on the length of
the wagon in front.
Disappointed with the maximum speed limit is
whatever one may do more 195km.ch not going at
the same time is a 4 channel 5000 rev., And the
stock is still there. Feels limiting

2010 MS3 is more refined than the first gen- except in looks. The turbo delivers more linear power, the suspension is a little more matured, the brakes are superb. It doesn't look great from the front-but that doesn't matter when you're in the drivers seat. Oct 06, 2010
