In my lifetime, I've owned many different cars by many different manufacturers: Ford, Chevy, M-Benz, Honda, Jaguar, Cadillac. Two years ago my wife purchased her first BMW 328i. After I drove it one time, I fell in love with BMW brand all together. I then purchased my first BMW X5. Since then, I've driven only BMW's, learned the cars inside and out. This is the best German engineered vehicle that I have known. Better then M-Benz S600 that I used to own in 1997. I am completely sold on BMW's and will not switch to another brand for nothing. BMW X5 Xdrive 35d is the best model you can get. The car is mainly used for long
journeys as it is cheap for fuel and has got the best MPG out of all of my cars.
Never had any problems with the car, and it is quite fast. It looks nice on the

Performance - acceleration is excellent especially at pick up, good & effective
brakes easy to handle.
Build Quality - Perfect.
Appearance - attractive interior, needs a little pimping on the exterior.
Cost of Ownership - not cheap to maintain, gas is a little expensive.

Nothing - well actually, lack of mud flaps etc. As a 4x4 it seems to get
covered in road dirt more than any other car I have owned. I got mine
in black and it constantly needs washing. Recommend silver or
something if got another.

the Bmw x5 xDrive 35d, is the latest Bmw x5 on the market. it has many new
features compared to te previous Bmw x5... it is also equiped with the latest iDrive
system. it had a twin turbo which takes the vehicle 0-100 km/h in 5.8 sec, and a
top speed of 260 km/h. the new Bmw x5 has a bigger boot than the previous

this BMW is a very luxurious piece of machinery. the acceleration is
really
quick, the engine is very nice, when you are right behind the vehicle
and it
drives off it has a pretty loud exhaust on it. the exterior of the BMW is
fast
looking it has a good looking exhaust tip on it. the interior of the car is
all
black leather and has a great nav system on it and has a pretty big
stereo
system in the car. this car is fun to be in and i love the mid sized SUV
type

The Ultimate SUV, agile, tight, precise, refined, and just
sporty. nice room but could be a few inches bigger.
Sunroof is large and makes the interior feel open. Top
quality interior and all the gadgets you want.. You have
to drive it to appreciate how few other suv's can handle

peformance- brakes are good, like all bmw's acceleration is kinda bad on the x30i, but the handling is solid.

Just bought an 09 BMW X5 xDrive30i with 74k miles and had transmission problems a couple days after purchasing. After getting multiple opinions from various shops it looks like it may need a new transmission. I'm getting quotes ranging from $3500 to rebuild - $5600 for a reman build. 1. Is the fix worth it? Other option is to get rid of it and take the loss. 2. If its worth the fix, rebuild vs reman?
