Pedal has good response time for being drive-by-wire. Only complaint is why put reverse in a dogleg left when its a 5speed, if 6speed yeh but not 5, not needed! Biggest Problem is the fact that if something goes wrong you have to explain to holden what it is that is wrong, cause they know nothing. "Hi i have a problem with my astra, the suspension is creaking" "Oh ok so what model is yours, is it a VE?" "Nooooo its an AH astra coupe" "ohh an Astra ohh i dont know much about them you'd have to leave it with us for a whileas we'd need to contact someone who does know" My question is WHY THE HELL DOES THIS GUY NOT HAVE A JOB IN THE WORKSHOP!!Aug 12, 2009

It's not your common run of the mill hot hatch. The sleek design, the curves and bodylines set it apart from anything else on the market. Thats enough to accelerate you from 0 to 100km/h in a amazing 7.2 seconds and races onto a top speed of 234km/h !!! The car comes with all the bells and whistles that you would normally find in its bigger German counterparts. Steering wheel controls, MP3 player, xennon lights, 18'' wheels, OBC are to name just a few. It has excellent road holding, but squeeze that accelerator a lil too much and you'll find that its easy to spin the massive 18'' tyres, that is until the traction control kicks in and prevents too much wheel slip. Other driver and safety features are EBD electronic brake force distribution, ABS antilocking braking system, ESP electronic stability control, DDS tyre Deflation detection system and 6 airbags. All of these systems work with the driver rather than against to provide a exhilarting drive. With the touch of the sport button the car seems to come alive. The throttle and steering response sharpens and the car tightens with anticipation of a race car. All in all it is a perfect blend of sportiness and comfort. It truly is in a class of its own. what can i say it was a rental. It drove fine and had plenty of poke. Though if honest too much at times cause it was easy to light the front tires up. Even when no trying. Could either do with traction control or slightly different ratio in first. Boot space was huge and fitted two suitcases in easily and still had some room left. Overall quailty seemed of good standard, though only had it a week, so didn't really get chance to find all the fualts. If it wasn't for the stupid controls i would of been tempted to consider one. I mean the indicators didn't self cancel very well and it was only a rocker switch so nothing positive and had lack of feel. I do think it was a base model, but still was a fun to drive.Jan 06, 2008
