The entire history of the Lexus SC series of sports coupes has been marred by criticism of its lack of invigoration. Lexus has always leaned towards comfort with the SC, and the new 430 is no different. The 2007 SC 430 receives much acclaim for its styling, refined ride, and interior appointments, but its performance may not be entirely commensurate with the 'SC' sports classification. The SC 430 certainly seems well-equipped. The 4.3 liter V-8 engine, also used in the prior LS 430, provides the smaller coupe with 288 horsepower and 317 pound feet of torque. Every SC is rear wheel drive, and the suspension is tuned considerably stiff for a Lexus, in an attempt to provide a sporting feel. The 0-60 mph time is a quick 5.8 seconds. However, critics feel that the Lexus coupe is just too refined to offer enough real driving exhilaration. There is further debate as to whether or not that is such a bad thing. It is a Lexus, hence it is part of an ongoing effort to limit cabin intrusions like engine revs and road feel. Drivers of previous SCs have found that the coupe holds its value extremely well. A favorite feature has continued to be the one-touch retractable hardtop roof, but this also forces another widely criticized aspect. When the roof is down, the coupe has virtually no cargo space. Full enjoyment of the SC driving experience really depends on the driver's needs and expectations. The SC 430 offers no surprise with respect to Lexus attributes: it is quiet, comfortable, safe, and reliable. However, the somewhat floaty suspension feel may make the more eager drivers a little nervous through tighter turns.

I think it’s a beautiful car. I had a wonderful experience driving it. The features are a little bit outdated but the car itself is a classic so you get pass that.

Fabulous car for darting around town, trips to the wine country, sight seeing. road trips, weekend shopping, sunbathing....
The car drives so smoothly and positively purrrrrs. It is fast, really really fast. It handles corners very well and is low and wide so hugs the road as it should.
Overall, my favorite car ever! I do not have a garage in the new house I purchased and this is not car that belongs on the streets.Feb 11, 2015

There really isn't anything I don't like. It isn't a car for the masses that need one car for every purpose. This is a beautifully balanced luxury sports car. While there may be faster, or more "in your face" driving experiences from the Porsche, some BMW's and Mercedes SL's, I have had all three of those makes and prefer the Lexus for my driving style.Feb 28, 2014

I love my father's car. It's definately a mix between a Sunday cruiser and a V8 roadster. This has the 4.3 litre Lexus V8 and comes standard with Navigation and the legendary Mark Levinson Sound System. The V8 performance is fantastic however, I feel as if Lexus could have made the suspension a little tighter.Feb 06, 2008
