It's a shame, too, because the Freestar is a comfortable ride that incorporates some really innovative safety features. Roomy interiors, easy handling, and a quiet cabin all draw praise from drivers and reviewers alike, but the bottom line has spoken: the 2007 Ford Freestar will be the last.

This van has been great for us. We have used it on vacations, long trips, everyday driving, etc. We always got great mileage with it, kept the kids entertained with the DVD player. We had room for our luggage. It was just a all around good vehicle for a family.May 08, 2014

Wrench light most likely culprits. Details follow
2007 Ford freestar 3.9 I don't know the trim so I selected "S". The wrench light came on last night. It was a cold, wet night. First time it ever happened. The van sounds good and the only thing noticable aside from the light is a rough shift after the light comes on. Restarting the van turns light off. Upon restart no rough shift until light comes on after approximately 3 minutes at 55mph. Pcm is dry as a bone with zero corrosion. Same for fuse box. No lose or damaged wires or connectors. I really need to know the most likely culprits. I don't have hundreds to pay for diagnostics and shops guessing at parts. I am fairly mechanically inclined and can swap almost any part with a little information. The internet tells me no codes would show up on the scanner at AutoZone but you can't trust everything you see. I need help. It's our only vehicle. Injured at work awaiting surgery so finances are not good. 4 kids, 2 are special needs, and one on the way. Can I drive it without destroying it? Stuck like chuck. Thank you so much

Freestar Front Fan Quit Blowing
Today I was driving my 2007 Ford Freestar. The AC was blowing and cooling just fine. I went in a store for less than 5 minutes, came out and restarted the car. The front fans would not blow, but the rear fan was working. I stopped by an auto parts store, thinking it was a fuse. All fuses and relays checked out ok. Could it be something else?

Replace a catalytic converter in a 2007 freestar van
Trying to get an estimate on fixing a catalytic converter on a 2007 Ford Freestar. The vehicle has 180k+ miles so dumping a lot of money into it isnt really an option. Never had any engine problems to this point. Looking around on line it seems like the converter parts are around $500 but I cant seem to find an estimate for the cost of labor. Anyone have a ball park figure?

Looking for a cooling diagram for a 2007 Freestar
Neighbors started smoking and smelling like antifreeze. So she pulled up and asked me to take a look at it. Her reserve reservoir was completely empty. As I didn't have any extra, I filled her reservoir up with water from a hose (after getting her permission and informing her to get the radiator flushed and refilled,) had her start the vehicle and saw the problem right off the bat. On the left side of the motor, there is a hose connection that came completely off (wasn't able to see much due to how dark it was an covered in hot coolent and water. Only thing is, I can't find a diagram of the cooling system for the vehicle to figure out which hose it is (looks to be a one inch, metal capped hose) to give her an idea of the replacement costs. If anyone has an idea where I can find a diagram or has knowledge of which hose it is and where it connects, I would appreciate it. Also of note: there doesn't look to be a way to clamp this hose on due to the small outlet and the metal connector on the hose preventing enough room to clamp it.
