2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Reviews, Pricing & Specs

Our 2007 Silverado “Classic” ( save as a 2006) has been an outstanding vehicle! 289,000 miles and was still going strong until it was taken out by a tornado . It was on the original 4.8 L V8 was bulletproof. The original transmission was replaced at 256,700. Otherwise it required nothing except brakes and an alternator. The thing about this truck is that the engine runs perfect and the wheels are still in pretty good shape and the truck is in good shape for the year it is. I would recomend this truck for work or for family transportation. The inside is leather and wood trim. Also it includes heat warmers and the A/C is working really good.The trunck also has a cover on top and makes it look nicer.Oct 27, 2013

Oil changes new battery and tires is all that ive put into it since i bought in 07 The new chrome grille looks great added a new tow package to it and put a factory stereo in that has a aux port. Added a GM bedliner tuneau cover and vent sheilds. its a one owner vehicle i bought it with only 4 miles on it. I wish the truck had 16'' wheels instead of 17'' the 17s are very expensive and sometimes hard to find. paid off and i enjoy driving this truck been on many long road trips May 08, 2012

The ext. cab z-71 is known for its offroad abilities without breaking or having any problems. The one I drive has the 5.3 liter flex fuel engine with the 3.42 gear ratio. When cruising at 55mph I can get 24mpg. That is astounding for a truck under any circumstance...and there has been no performance upgrading done yet. The truck accelerates great, brakes, and handles great. There is a trailer tow mode that switches the transmission's shift points thus making accellerating with heavy loads easier. There has been an excess of 1500lbs in the bed of the truck (in the rain too) and she handled it just fine. Pulling a boat is simple and easy..even taking it up steep, slick boatramps is a cinch. The Silverado is a great choice for a truck. So far, I have almost 30,000 miles and have had no problems. The only maintenance I have had done is on a bad speaker , oil changes, and tire rotation. Also, speaking of the tires, the Goodyear Wrangler AT's are showing very little wear at this stage. Jun 14, 2009

I love absolutely everything about my truck. It's got me out of a lot of close calls, but most importantly the safety features. Dual zone climate control is nice. My truck has the 5.3L V8 with Active Fuel Management. I can't say enough good things about that feature. I get better mileage with the V8 than I ever did with the little quad 4 I had. In BC I was getting pretty good mileage with it, averaging 600km per 3/4 tank of gas. Out here, I can go forever without having to fill up again. Absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend that if you're in the market for a truck, this is THE truck to get!Aug 27, 2008

Hugely improved over the previous body style EXCEPT for the rear brakes: they went back to drums! I can't complain too much though, because the stopping is still excellent although the ABS is a little too overprotective and this can result in longer stopping distances on ice. Don't bother ordering the GM installed command start -- it works from a maximum of about 50 yards.Feb 04, 2008

my silverado is very impressive but i have a few new vehicle problems. the transmission got stuck in second gear and needed solenoids at 3000 miles. the a/c keeps switching to outside air while driving no matter what and it is annoying to bring in exhaust fumes from other vehicles. the dealer says several complaints but no remedy as gm considers this normal. a letter to gm got me the same responce. this is a normal function of the vehicle according to gm. breathing other peoples exhaust in traffic can't be right..any ideas? a wind noise and rattle from the passenger windsheild post is very annoying at speeds over 65 mph. the noise is worse if it is windy outside. responces are welcomed :)Dec 29, 2007

I was told by even my Chevy mechanic that this new style Silverado was built solid, and I love the new look, but that's about all I can say good so far. I only have around 1300 miles now, but gas mileage is worse than the '06 Silverado I traded in, about 17.5 versus 20. I took a longer highway trip yesterday and averaged 15.9 pathetic mpg. I also have a strange high pitched whistling noise coming from somewhere, and was told it has to do with the accellerator? I've noticed a slight rattle or crackle in the drivers door, but it tends to come and go. Love the look inside and out but I personally find a couple of the gauges a little hard to see at times. It seems like the gas gauge could have been tilted in a little more towards the driver. Overall interior seems a little nicer than the '06, and the extra electronic features are neat. Overall, I would have looked at other trucks or stuck with my '06 had I known.Sep 23, 2007

Truck is very appealing visually. The exterior is great, I even like the silver birch metallic color, it matches my Harley. Driving the truck, which I purchased yesterday, is fun..traded an 05 Jeep Cherokee and forgot the pure fun of a pick up..some basic instinct finds it appealing. I got the W/T w/V6..engine has adequate power for my needs and the package came with Cruise control, tilt steering, dual A/C and auto headlights for under 19,000..hard to beat the deal. the truck drives nice so far, haven't owned a Chevy in years but look forward to this..the dealer gave me a good deal on the Cherokee, which I was seriously upside down in. Anyway, I only have 180 miles on the truck but all is well so far..the interior is a little plain but, after all, it is a work truck. Fit and finish on the exterior is good quality, however, some of the materials used on the interior (plastic knobs) feel like Chevy could have done better.Oct 09, 2006
