White smoke from engine
I took a short drive to my job and back. When I got home there was white smoke coming out of the hood on the passenger side. There was liquid on a lot of the engine but it wasn't oil.

In its final year of production, the Dodge Stratus midsize sedan got a revised R/T trim with a 2.7-liter, 200-hp V6 powertrain. New standard features include a prominent rear spoiler, 17-inch wheels, and more leather in the interior. The 2006 Stratus comes in two trims: SXT and R/T.
Gas mileage comes out to around 22 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway. Both trims have 4 doors and seat 5. When comparing the two trims, keep in mind that the R/T offers more standard features as well as an optional sunroof.
Overall, the Dodge Stratus earns brownie points for low price and a spacious trunk. Unfortunately, the '06 Stratus falls short in just about every other department. Pick up a 2006 Dodge Stratus if you're on a budget, but don't expect to get much more than you pay for.

Bought this car in 2007 and have only had to replace front brake disks and hub bearing, tires and oil. Of course the regular maintenance stuff too. Love it. It's been coast to coast and daily driver in Colorado. No major issues.Oct 23, 2013

Great car at first but once I hit 75,000 miles (with following the maintenance schedule) it's just been one problem after another. A/C compressor, cat, idler pulley, cooling fan, fuel rail, etc. I went to the junk yard for a few parts and found a WELL extensive list of dodge stratus' they stopped making them in 2006 and I hardly see them on the road...that's because they are all in the junkyard. Not to mention all of the cosmetic rust (probably bad paint job)Mar 30, 2013

I really like this car a lot. It is very spacious for a car of this type. I didn't have many problems with it, the transmission went out in 2010, but other than that I always felt it was reliable & got good gas mileage.Dec 29, 2012

The car handles cool, there was a dent on the passenger side panel because of an accident. It accelerates good for a bigger car, the stock speakers hit hard for stocks. I dug drivin this car, it's smooth. I was a satisfied driver when it came to this wheel.Apr 05, 2010

For a first car owner the Dodge Stratus is a wonderful car. It provides excellant safety, great stock sound system, along with a nice performance. As for gas, it is one of the best in town. A twelve(12) gallon and awesome gas mileage is all for the Stratus!Oct 21, 2009

I like the sleak design. It's nice and roomie on the inside without having a huge/heavy car to drag around and deplete ur gas mileage. It also has it's good days where it gets up and going when it needs to. Great fuel efficiency for it's year. Love the engine, I beat it the hell up daily and only changed the oil once in the past year(when it was changed it wasn't even that dark and it was regular oil, not synthetic). Oct 17, 2009

Very good car, I like how it looks and the interior because it is very equipped even if it is the most basic version, also has a good price compared to others in its category.

I really like this car for my commute. It's great on gas, even with the 6cyl (I have never owned a 4cyl in my life and even my 80mi commute won't change that!)
It's very comfortable. I bought the nicest model available (since I HAD to buy a car for work) with Leather/Suede interior, Sunroof, Power everything, and a bunch of other goodies... well I always did love the Mopars anyway.Aug 26, 2008

Good looking car, definitly a good fast exccellerator. Unfortunately sometimes the gears do not shift very smoothly (it is an automatic and sometimes stutters) but definitly a good fun drive. Has a very good sound system (ofcourse you can hook up your own, but the bass is great automatically.) I would recommend the dodge stratus.Jun 29, 2008

Over heating how do i fix a leak?
Car overheated once i replaced thermostat housing cause it cracked and thermostat also replaced sensors for fans now its continuing to overheat and when i turn on my AC all my coolant drains from the car. Do i have a leak or is my AC is it a hose somewhere help?
