As an all-new luxury coupe, the BMW M6 got off to an excellent start in 2006. This juiced version of the 6 series comes equipped with a 5.0 L, 500 hp V10 powertrain with standard 7 speed manual transmission. The M6 comes in one trim: the Coupe RWD.
Gas mileage comes out to 12 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway. This car has 2 doors, seats 4, and offers standard air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power/leather seats, cd player, navigation system, ABS brakes, traction control, and stability control. If you feel the need for speed, the M6 goes from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
Overall, drivers like the fact that the M6 presents a relatively affordable trophy car with top acceleration, power, and a roomy trunk for a coupe with 13.1 cubic feet of cargo space. While the iDrive climate/audio/navigation/communication system gets a little tedious at times, the positives far outweigh the negatives for this top notch sports car that keeps up with the average driver on a daily basis.

Check engine lights galore. This car needs major maintenance that if you do yourself will cost around $5k or more. theres obvious damage to the front headlight area that was filled with insulation foam, burnt wires are in that area. There were multiple misfires and the car almost left me stranded on the test dive after it went into limp mode. do not buy, do not buy!Feb 07, 2020

I love all the tech in this car. It is fun to drive all the time. Draws attention every where I drive.

This is the best car I have ever owned--and I have had some nice ones, including other BMW's. I don't even care that it cost over $100K new-- this is truly a world-class ride. It is supremely quiet, comfortable, mild-mannered at cruising speeds and very well-appointed. However, when you put your right foot down, this very civilized machine becomes an absolute rocket! It accelerates so effortlessly that you will think the speedometer is reading in kph instead of mph. Only when you notice that every other car on the road has suddenly become oncoming traffic do you grasp how awesomely fast this machine is. It will easily top 200 mph (once the idiotic 155 mph governor is disabled) and do it with utter aplomb. Fortunately, the massive brakes and excellent Michelin tires are up to the task of handling all that energy when it comes time to change speed and/or direction. I really like the SMG paddle shift transmission, although it does take some getting used to. There are not enough superlatives to describe what driving this car is like. Even the sound system is fantastic. I absolutely love it. BMW (and everyone else) will have to create something unimaginably spectacular to get me to even consider trading it. This thing is a simple Head Turner. As fast as a supercar at the fraction of the price. Was expensive new but can get into a used one for real cheap (thanks a lot BMW for making too many.) One of the best looking soft top convertibles I have ever seenAug 08, 2011

This car is awesome! There is so much poer even before you hit the sport button. Powerful and handles like a dream. The styling both inside and out are very unique and pleasurable to the eye. Get looks wherever I go. Wish I had an Audobahn we could drive on here in the states!Feb 23, 2010

Performance –A tad slow at low ends, but great
once yo hit 50...
Build Quality – really neat! Full leather, high end
navy and on screen display (even the GPS!!)
Appearance – Luxurious, sporty and classy
Cost of Ownership – quite high, the V10 is quite
thirsty !
Major issue is the range, the gas tank allows only

Once again, Car IQ does not let me pick the model year properly, but my first M6 was acutally 1985. It was gray-market import from Germany, so all the labels were in German. I bought this car from a used-car dealer in Saitama, Japan, which is north of Tokyo. It had many special modifications on it, mostly with Schnitzer parts, such as wheels and one-armed wiper.Mar 21, 2008

I reviewed this M6 before. I actually had to choose between this beemer and the CLS I have now. Considering that this is an "M" car and it's way alot more cheaper than the top-of-the-range CLS AMG, I was at the brim of considering this but somehow my mind just slit off.
This was basically because, it had a carbon fibre roof which was in grey and i wanted it in white. So it wouldn't have looked nice. It wasn't as comfortable as the Mercedes and the interior is appaling. The build quality is not to say bad but just not as good as the Merc either. The drink holder on the passenger side won't close and that can be very annoying.
However, the best part of this car is the SMG-II 7-speed gearbox. I just love it very much. It's soo much more of a sport's car in the driving abilities but the torque is not as strong as the Merc niether is it's power but the Merc is HEAVIER and that means a bad fuel consumption with it's 6.2 litre.
But somehow I just can't buy the M6 just for it's engine and overall performance. The CLS has 4 doors and this has only 2. The boot wont fit 2 golf sets with another 2 boston bags while the CLS would and the beauty of the CLS is superb! Jan 06, 2008

It boasts a V10 engine so it is naturally a fast vehicle. It's a BMW so you
can expect great quality. Great brakes to go with the great acceleration.
Interior is very nice as well as the Harmon Kardon Sound system with the
