Write a reviewNot too much changed for the Infiniti G35 in 2005. The G35 comes in 3 main trims: the x AWD Sedan, Coupe, and Sedan. The Coupe and Sedan come with either 5 speed automatic transmission or 6 speed manual (MT). The x AWD, Coupe, and Sedan got a bump up to a 3.5-liter, 280-hp V6 engine, while the Coupe MT and Sedan MT got upgraded to a 3.5-liter, 298-hp V6.
Gas mileage generally comes out to 18 mpg in the city and 25 on the highway. The coupes have 2 doors and seat 4, while the sedans have 4 doors and seat 5. All trims have standard air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power/leather seats, a CD player, ABS brakes, and stability control. Only the Sedan 6MT lacks standard traction control. Sunroof and navigation system come as options. The coupes have 7.8 cubic feet of cargo space and 86.6 of passenger space, while the sedans give you 14.8 of cargo space and 98 of passenger space.
Overall, drivers like the strong V6, smooth handling, and roomy interior that the G35 brings to the table. While critics would appreciate better materials, the Infiniti G35 gets props as a relatively affordable and stylish showpiece.

One of the most affordably fun cars Ive ever driven. Has a super reliable engine and very few known serious issues, the only problems Ive had are related to bad electrical connections which intermittently causes a check engine light. I cleaned off the ground connections & let the ECU connector dry and it hasnt come back since though! Only other problems Ive experienced are bad ball joints on the control arm making steering tough at low speeds, a very wonky gas gauge, and bad power mirrors. At 146,000 miles and still going strong though!
It has really sporty acceleration and handling for a sedan of this size, and the design of the car looks absolutely amazing in my opinion.
Super reliable engine and drivetrain on the 05+ models, minor oil burning issues (but thats not uncommon on sport car engines anymore). Great feeling suspension aside from the bad ball joints (which are only $60 for both, and you can fix them yourself with a tool from autozone).
Great car, would recommend for anyone looking for a fun, reliable, and relatively cheap car.Feb 02, 2023

I like the looks of the car especially with halo projector lights on it, at night it looks sick. Its comfortable to sit in, the seats recline and everything in the car is automatic. The only thing that I dislike about the is that its small.Dec 02, 2013

I just love this car. I had owned an Infiniti J30 previous to this one so I was pretty sold on the make - reliable, powerful, and fun to drive. The car handles beautifully as it has such a solid build. Let me add, that it was rarely in the shop except for routine maintenance.May 12, 2013

The front seats are very roomy even for very tall people and very comfortable. It handles tight and has plenty of power. It corners like a dream, especially with good tires. Last winter I brought it to the hills in Montana and it outperformed trucks on the hills till they put the trucks in 4 wheel drive. My gas mileage was around 25 per gallon. The Infiniti G35 coupe is a good luxury sport coupe. I owned this car for a little over 3 years and had no issues with reliability. It got surprisingly high gas mileage for a large 6 cylinder- I was averaging around 23mpg mostly city driving. It has the looks of a car that costs more than this car actually goes for. Great handling and decent performance. My only issue with the G35 is that it doesn't put anywhere near it's 298hp down to the road, so when combined with how heavy this car is, that takes away a lot of the potential this car has. That being said, anyone who chooses this car over a Z values the combination of style and performance, and the G35 is definitely a success at that. Jul 25, 2012

overall the look of this car is great but performance wise not the best. In order to get some speed out of this car you have to go turbo.all the little bolt ons you put on will do little to nothing. handling is grat but would recommend hotchkis sway bars.gas is horrible. but overall its a fun car to drive and is reliable.Dec 08, 2010

Performance - I love the Handling that I have with this car and my Tein coilovers
Build Quality - I absolutely no maintenance problems out of this car. I treat it like a new born.
Appearance - I love the look of my car and so does everyone else. Still have a few plans for it tho. (Nismo Front bumper w/06 projector headlights)
Cost of Ownership - I feel like if you have such a great car like this money for maintenance is no option. I pay alot but its worth it

car is a great in summer and winter. gets good gas mileage and smooth ride. pop on a K&N intake and hear the engine roar!! for a sedan the car has alot of power, i've raced GSR swapped civics and beat em both times. the front suspension likes to squeek when low speed turning or going over bumps, common problem with the G35x. do your oil changes on time and take care of the car and a G35x will last forever.May 27, 2010

Performance = Powerful V6 280hp 270 ft lbs torque. Brakes need to be up
graded. Handling is great with the tight tires and suspension.
Build Quality = Only serious repair was the valve covers, oil in cylinders 5 and
6.
Appearance = Interior is amazing but the exterior needs work but just the front
end.
Cost of Ownership = Gas Mileage is horrid but is a Sport Sedan so what do you
expect. Maintenance is not pricey at all as long as you do proper oil changes
and spark plugs when required.

The infiniti is a lot of fun. of course that is after I stepped up from a honda civic. The quality so far is really great for the price. The appearance is probably the most distinctive and polarizing aspect of the car. You eaither like the styling, or you don't. I like that it does not look like every other sedan on the road, myself. The mileage is less than optimal, but I'll sacrifice that for how much fun it is to drive.Jan 19, 2010

around 4000rpm. The handling is pretty good, but it
does get a bit squirrely when you really goose it. It is

Rapid acceleration, sticky handling, interior quality is excellent. This is just an all-around FUN car to drive, with beautiful styling, plus 26+ mpg on the hwy, 19-20 around town. Six gears of fun. Only way to get a G35 is 6-speed manual. Get on the highway, turn off the radio, slide the windows down and open the sunroof and let the engine sing you a lullabye. One of the best cars with a mixture of speed and luxuy under $40k.Mar 29, 2009

Only car that can match/beat this car in its class is the M3 (Rear-drive, ~300hp, 6spd manual, w/ a decent backseat and trunk), and you'd have to buy an M3 a couple years older to get a similar purchase price. Handles quite well w/ the Sport Pkg, great exhaust note (not too intrusive at lower revs, nice sound at full throttle). If you're not someone that tracks their car and demands razor sharp performance, the G35 Coupe is brilliant. The handling is more than adequate to provide loads of fun in daily driving, and passing power is excellent in every gear. The seats are also pretty supportive. The interior is a very nice place to be, and the exhaust note of the car is beautiful. There's a bit of road noise at high speeds, but other than that it's great.
