The 2004 Chevrolet Blazer was an old favorite nearing the end of a long run. With its attention focused on the high-end spinoff TrailBlazer line, not to mention the new Equinox SUV, Chevrolet made few changes to its pioneering midsize sport utility wagon.
For purists, though, the '04 Chevy Blazer provided rugged power at an affordable price. Its high profile and stiff suspension (remember, the 2004 Blazer was built on a truck platform) were popular with off-road enthusiasts looking for a 4WD that could stand up to tough terrain.
The 2004 Blazer was offered in three trims: LS, LS ZR2, and Xtreme. The ZR2 and Xtreme modes, available in two-door bodystyle only, targeted younger drivers with their sporty, flashy look. The basic LS level was available in both four-door and two-door bodystyles; buyers also had the option of four-wheel drive on the LS and LS ZR2 trims.

More dislikes than likes. Not too much power, too little for the poor fuel mileage to compensate for. Other than recent problems it did its job fairly and really no complaints about the 4wd. That actually works surprisingly well and haven't had any issues yetFeb 10, 2014

Other than the thermostat i do really like this vehicle. I hope it turns out to be a great buy. I can deal with the thermostat especially since it's easy to replace. I just hope it doesn't become one of those cars that needs something fixed everytime i turn around. It does drive great and i really like the size, you can put it in any spot you find. Apr 21, 2012

all around good vehicle i love it ...... 4.3 v6 has alot of power for the lil truck it is and it only cost me about 4k to own it and it would sit and spin the tires all day longApr 13, 2012

used when i got it, but it has more features than any car I have had since buying cars. It's easy to use head lights coming on automatic is a great feature. It does not have a v-8 but with fuel injection the start from stopping is still good.Oct 18, 2011

I really loved this SUV.Drives great. Had a Blazer before this one too. Just want to downsize, since I don't drive much anymore at my age. Very low mileage but keep it clean. Great for hauling garden stuff, your groceries, sports equipment, etc. in the back. No problems with the truck at all.Mar 11, 2011

Gets 22 miles to the galon! Handles very well. It has the 4.3L Vortech 5 speed. It could use a little more hores power. I love driving it, it will go anywhere i want it to. If you are looking for a suv i recommend a blazer ZR2!Aug 01, 2010

I absolutely love my 2004 Blazer Xtreme. Acceleration, braking, and handling are more than enough for this thing. Build quality is what you would expect from GM at the time. Interior and exterior look great! It gets pretty good gas mileage, maintenance is minimal. Fun to drive for sure!!Jun 21, 2009

I have a yellow one, ive only seen one other one in kansas so
far. i love it. so many people just stop and stare when i drive
by. it makes alot of noises in the dash, and i drive it about 20
miles a day back and forth to school but its worth it.
ITS HORRIBLE IN SNOW.

this truck is very fun to drive and i love the looks of my zr2 blazer, gas mileage is so so and lots squeaks, but i would recommend this truck to everyone it can take you places most would not dare. ok in my book!!!!Feb 21, 2009

The 2004 Blazer ZR2 is a good truck, it has pretty good acceleration for a truck and rides pretty sporty, build quality could be better, because you hear squeaks and things, but most american cars are like that. It looks great and also gets it fare share of compliments, gas mileage is terrible, but like my Firebird it also has been very reliable so farFeb 18, 2009

I Have had three jeeps 2 Cherokees & 1 Grand Cherokee i like the quality and trim package and comfort of the Blazer much better,for the money its a much better deal.Handling is great makes you feel like you are driving a sport car it corners very well for a mid size suv.Dec 01, 2008

i love how my car sits up higher than most others but isn't up in the sky. its easy to modify the car because everything is accessible. i have a JL Audio sound system in it and it bumps hard because the car is only a 2 door and has very little excess space. Love it, but hate the gad mileage and how when something small goes bad it ends up costing hundreds. But, what else is new these days? SUV's have crap mileage and new parts always cost a ton.Oct 20, 2008

The truck is built very well. The interior is fantastic quality, the engine is solid (the epic 4.3L can do no wrong), and i found out it can tow 5,000 lbs. its 4x4 unit is yet to be tested by me but i'm sure it's just as good as the older unit so it should be fantastic and unstoppable. the amenities are nice with a full power driver seat, full power sun roof that tilts up or slides all the way back, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise, and deep tinted rear windows.

no clutch. Throw out barring?
Recently after I put it in gear it makes a grinding sound when letting off the clutch. It's been happening for about 2 months. Suddenly I have no clutch and no pressure in Petal. I can still drive but have to time and shift accordingly. It's making a high pitched whine but seems to drive okay. Has my throwout bearing broken? There is no apparent hydraulic fluid leaks.......
