The ECHO, Toyota’s sub-compact sedan, did not change significantly for 2002.
The 2002 Toyota ECHO came in two body styles, a two door and a four door. Both shared a 108-horsepower 1.5-liter engine. It came standard with a five-speed manual transmission, and a four-speed automatic was an available option. Fuel economy was excellent, about 31/38 mpg.
By 2002, The Toyota ECHO was gaining more fans, but it still had its detractors. Those who like the car praise it for its Toyota reliability, low cost, fuel economy, and unusual appearance. ECHO fans admit that the car comes with very few creature comforts, but for the most part, they are fine with that. Those who dislike the 2002 ECHO complain that it is very noisy and bumpy at freeway speeds, has unattractive styling, and a cheap-looking interior.

manque entretien , porte cote passager avant a changer a cause de la rouille. 2 tables casser suspentions avant. deux disque avant a changer . plaquette de frein a changer. vitre pare brise casser. what you pay is what you get .May 29, 2021

Lovely little car, great gas mileage, perfect first car! Handles really well, and great in the snow. I rarely get stuck. High enough off the ground so you don't bottom out often. Seating is comfortable. One dislike is that there is no RPM meter so you have to base shifting on how the engine sounds. Easy to drive.Feb 09, 2015

This car handles very well on the road and I have always felt safe driving this car. Durable and trustworthy and toyotas seem to lat forever. Would highly recommend this car to any one looking for smaller car. Also very fun to drive. Jul 13, 2013

You get what you pay for. Although at 8,000 USD for a used one is asking a bit much. Proper used price should be 5,000 for the 2002 model with 50,000 miles. Most of these models also have an electrical issue that causes the battery to drain when the car is not running.Jun 18, 2009

Performance: excellent
Build Quality: excellent
Appearence: A little too bubblish
Cost of Ownership: excellent milage, rego cost is good compared to others, little maintenance required, parts are expensive sometimes and a little hard to find.
Fun Factor: fantastic, but a little lacking in horse power for over taking, slow acceleration. May 30, 2009

Performance : very good acceleration and handling and braking as it's small
Build Quality: if you are cool driving there is no need to repair
Appearance : Small and tight and cool as you can feel that you are handling the car not as big cars
Cost of Ownership: sheep

Good acceleration, Good brakes, Nice exterior, Weird interior, Fun to drive, Exellent for travelling in highway.
No need for regular repairs.

I co-owned this car back around 2005-2006. It has gas mileage of 40 to 42, the most fuel-efficient ever existed. Too bad it didn't sell well that Toyota decided to cease production. It was easy to maneuver and it is small, perfect for city streets. Good performance as it almost never needed any repairs during my co-ownership. However, its outside appearance did not seem to attract a lot of people; but I only cared about its fuel economy and functionality.Aug 08, 2008

This tiny little Toyota has quite a bit of pep, for its tiny 1.5 liter four cylinder engine. It's incredibly reliable, makes for a very convenient city vehicle, and has a surprisingly compliant ride. Best of all, it averages 32MPG in the City, and over 42MPG on the highway, depending on how you drive, of course. It's a definite winner, especially in times of $4 gas.Aug 06, 2008

It only has 2 doors, and it looks like an egg on wheels.

It was the best inversion ever!!! The quality of the ECHO is awesome. The performance is incredible, the only thing that I spend money on it is on gas, tires and regular mantainance. It's really a fun car to drive. If you are looking for a non-expensive carwith good rendiment, this is the car for you!!!Jul 13, 2008

Battery dead
This has happened 3 times now. All of a sudden my radio will go dead (it's on but no sound on any stations) then the next day my battery is stone dead. I jump it and we're off again. Any idea what could be causing this. The radio thing is always the precursor to the battery being dead. Even put a new battery in it the last time and it's happened twice since.
